I sent a pic of me with a beard to my sister. She said I look hot! Haha. Never thought I'd hear those words from her. It feels good to be out for her. Now I just need to take the next steps to be myself. Come out to more people.

Anxiety rising. But it's like sky diving. Just throw myself out there and dive through the anxiety.

Brothers and sisters can surprise you with stuff they actually say. When my brother gives me compliments it always surprises me a little. Not that he's mean to me, but he says the usual brother stuff to me. Like if I tell him I don't have time for his dumb behavior he says " well if you need more time just look at a clock. It will stop". So then when he tells me I look pretty it's a little surprising. But I do think compliments from a brother or sister tend to be sincere even if they are totally unexpected.

And you do look good. You also look like someone not to be messed with. Lol

My sisters first comment was: "Now you tell me. I always wanted a big sister". And since she keeps poking fun at me for my newly found shoe addiction (something I share with her and my 18 month old daughter).

This is the best sign of acceptance.

On my trip to see the family members in the south, my first time as Monica, I found out my brother had had a talk with everyone beforehand. He said if anyone said anything negative to me, they would answer to him. I can't say how much that touched me.
It felt so good to get the weight of the secret off my shoulders. I suspect you will feel tremendous relieve when everyone knows your truth.

Agreed, sisters/brothers can be awesome, others can be horrid.  My much older sister would call me a ->-bleeped-<- all the time even to her friends and coworkers.  My other sister is my best friend.  She would always have my back as I her.  I haven't outed myself to her, but she knows.  She even took me cosmetics shopping this weekend, for me!
