I've been binding probably most days for a month or two. I go lomger than the recommended 8 hours at a time because realistically I can't run home 7 hours into my day.

I looked in the mirror today and I'm paranoid that my chest has gotten saggier already. Is it really possible I've damaged it that fast?

I've also been dieting and lost weight over this period of time, so it could be that? I have a really large chest to begin with, though even before I lost the weight I was slim.

Welcome to Susan's Place. People can gain or lose weight in one part of the body and not another depending on their genetics. That's why one person can develop a pot belly while another puts the weigh on uniformly and shows little sign of the weigh gain. A secondary issues is if you lose a large amount of weight, your skin may not tighten up again. The more weight you lose and the older you are, the more likely you are to end up with baggy skin. One of the reasons for the tummy tuck is because of the skin not returning to it's original dimensions. After you reach your goal weigh, it could take as long as a year for your skin to reach it's final size you may need to wait a while to know how your skin will look.

Ah thank you for your response! I don't think I've lost quite that nuch weight though! I was 5'1 8st'8lb and I've gone down to 8st'1lb... I haven't changed clothing size or anything, I has just been eating too much take-out and decided I needed to return to my previous weight!

I just want to know if about 2 months of commercial binder use is enough to have done damage to the tissue already, really?

So, what a lot of people with small chests don't notice is that the type of support you wear actually redistributes your chest fat and breast tissue a bit. Ever switch from wearing a sports bra to a balconette bra every day and watch the tissue resdistribute from under your armpits forward to your chest over the next few months? Binding tends to do that in reverse, encouraging stuff to migrate to the side.

The good news is that it's not permanent. If that if it happens fast in one direction, it'll happen fast the other way if you go back, though like all metabolism-related things I'm sure it gets slower with age.

Well, everybody 's boobs get saggy with age, there's no scape, weight gain and loss as pointed above also ruin boobs.  Anyway don't worry that much,  even bras makes boobs saggier says french researches.

I hope that's true!
So it's reasonable it happened this fast? :( Them being saggy just adds a whole  level of self-resentmrnt to the dysphoria I have.

I hope I can fix it... but the binder helps so much whilst it's on arrgh

I think you need to be prepared for your boobs starting to sag the moment you start binding more than once in a while. It's an unfortunate certainty.

For what it's worth, I've had to go from binding full time for 2-3 years to wearing bras full time three times in my life for various reasons, and all three times I've more or less bounced back in a few months. Pun unintended.

But as others have said, age does catch up eventually no matter what, barring plastic surgery. The bigger you are, the sooner it happens. And binding full time will eventually cause permanent damage. But the alternative is hating yourself all day in public rather than just when you're home alone, so it's a tradeoff many are willing to make.

I would be more concerned about back pain, permanent difficult to breath, costochondritis,  damaged and broken ribs, curvated spine, blisters, skin rashes, etc that comes along binding for years.

Anyway what's the side effects of binding for years tough ?
