That desire needs to be in you subconscious from the get go or it will not work.

Well, perhaps you could turn a subconscious desire to be transgender into a conscious one.  A percentage of the people you transform will already either consciously or subconsciously want to rob banks.  If only we could think of a way to make those people want to give you the money.  Perhaps subliminal messaging would help.

You might need to hypnotise the police and FBI too, though.

Dr Spiegel is a physician who taught hypnosis for many years.  He always talked about how you could not be hypnotized to do anything that would be against your values and moral beliefs.  He then tells a story of bringing a young female medical student up on stage and hypnotizing her and telling her to take her clothes off.  She proceeded to start to strip.  He intervened quickly--this was a medical school after all.  When things were again on an even keel he asked her about it.  It seems that she had paid her way though undergrad studies as a stripper.  One really must be careful.

That is exactly what I was trying to say. It has to be there or it will not work.

Personally I have no problem getting naked in front of others. So even in a clinical environment I would probably be convinced to strip too. Yet I am not violent so I could probably not be convinced to hit someone willing or not. I know I am not a chicken so I would never cluck like one. Pretty much that is sideshow ->-bleeped-<-.

As for the girl that stripped, I can't judge. There are so many people that do things to make enough to work through college and that is truly a shame. Stripping pays more than waitressing. ???

Stripping pays more than waitressing.

If you're really good at your job you can do both at once and make even more money.

With regard to videos and audio files that supposedly encourage your brain to adapt to self-love and self-acceptance and embracing femininity and hopefully letting go of masculine thought processes...

Those things more or less sum up the way my transition is happening at the moment. I'm starting to appreciate my pre-HRT body as a female body and so on. I still catch myself mentally misgendering myself and "feeling like a boy" a lot of the time though (urgh).

As for hypnosis, I did watch one video on youtube (basically just audio) which was "getting in touch with your inner female" or something, by Autumn Asphodel. It told me to start off imagining myself descending a staircase, so I started by imagining myself as "teenage Molly" from that Pokemon "Spell of the Unown" movie, in the scene where she's on the floating staircase outside...I may have conflated a few scenes there - point is, I didn't realise I was supposed to start the session being "male", so I guess I got it a bit wrong....

So, there's my hypnosis experience. I basically don't have the patience for it. =P

I couldn't take more than 2 minutes, and now I feel like blood should be trickling from my ears. How on earth did you make it for a month? :D

I'm with you on that!
The tones are supposed to activate parts of the brain which in turn induces physical changes. In theory they make it seem so plausible but dang! That screeching is really hard to take.

I don't know for how long but I've watched a lot of the videos on there hoping that they would work. Has anyone else watched any of them? Am I being foolish for wishing that they would work on me? I'm sorry I just had to put this out there. I'm so glad for all the other videos on how to transition. I'm trying to research where I live on how to start transitioning but I'm still new to the area and I have never been a big doctor person so when I google how to find a dr I feel it leads me in circles. I'm originally from Minnesota and currently live in Greenville SC. I don't want to keep spinning my wheels I've waited so long and desire to make an effort to start sooner than later. Thank you for your time.

Watching hypnosis videos on the net doesn't seem an especially wise thing to do.  Effectively you are opening up your subconscious to someone who may not have your best interests in mind.

The idea with these videos is to bypass your consciousness and plant (presumably) good ideas/concepts that will help with your transition.  That is great if they are efective.  BUT what OTHER ideas are they expressing in the white noise?

In other words, I couldn't have been the first to come up with the hypnosis bank robbing scheme.

I believe that there was a bank robber that used hypnosis as a defense at one time.  I believe that he is now using hypnosis to get though a rather lengthy stay at a federal bed and breakfast.

For fun I want back and looked at the Youtube videos and the promotion that they put out.  If the audio is turned down to a tolerable level it is not too bad.  On the other hand the implied promises are a little unreal.  Some are even promising that your anatomy will be altered suggesting that you would not need grs in the future if you only did the full program that they offer—of course there is a charge for the full program.

It is this stuff that gives hypnosis a bad name.

Many years ago I read an article about research done at a Canadian university, McGill, I think.  It was found that in spite of a contemporary belief among some psychologists that hypnosis could be used to enhance or retrieve memories, the enhanced imagination of hypnotised people caused them to have false memories that sometimes persisted after the hypnosis.  (I also once read about a man convicted on the basis the testimony of his daughter, who "remembered" things after being hypnotised but that's by the way.)  Perhaps under hypnosis, some trans people do imagine that they have become more feminine, and I wonder whether that feeling might sometimes persist after the hypnosis.

I must say that the Youtube feminization hypnosis videos didn't seem to have a feminizing effect on me, although I found at least one of them soothing.  It felt nice to listen to someone TELLING me to be feminine instead of telling me not to be.

The false "recovered memory" scandal was huge for a while, I remember it being a big topic when I was a kid and more recently I read a book written around the mid 90s that dealt heavily with it. (Part of a series by Jonathan Kellerman, who himself was a child psychologist before becoming an author.)

Look hypnosis does work but there has to be a conscious desire to know something or change habits in order for success. Hypnotism for weight loss, smoking cessation and addictions have proven successful in the past but the person has to want to change or stop. It is more like a nudge of the subconscious mind for more will power instead "suggestion" to make you do what you don't want to do.

Does hypnosis work? Most definitely but nothing magic about it though. Forget the sound and resonance type though. And if you are not trans then hypnosis will not make you trans or feel opposite of your internal gender. What it may do though is make you more confident to be more open about who you are.

I have read studies on past life regressions and do I believe it? Maybe? It is still not physical proof of reincarnation but neither is heaven or hell proof of single life either. But... You all know who you are deep down so no one needs a "youtube" video to prove it to themselves. But you do have to know yourself on a deep level so meditation to me is way more important than hypnosis. :P

I know all about false memories and all that but hypnosis can't be proven in a court of law and why regression is not admissible for a court and convicting someone for a crime. Do I believe in false memories? Not really. But there is a Burden of Proof and the subconscious mind is not proof beyond the shadow of a doubt. Then a lot of people have seen the sideshow about hypnotic suggestions so...

But the thing to do is to get to know yourself through meditation and who you are on a deeper level. The Sounds don't work though. And nothing will make you trans if you are not already trans.

Now one thing the videos especially the images and the talking ones may do is make you more confident to be more open about it.

I hope that makes a little sense. In other words and as an example the smoking cessation hypnosis, you have to want to subconsciously want to stop smoking or it doesn't work.
