Hello, long time reader, first-time poster.  ;D

I'm a 47 yo mtf who started hrt just a month ago. Back during puberty, I like many other males, developed breast buds and mine seemed to disappear after a while but I always had a bit of swelling there once I started to put on weight. (I was really thin growing up and when I started gaining weight in my late 20s I got not just a gut but moobs too.) Now that I'm on hrt, my breasts have been swelling even more, are aching a bit and for a few days, it felt like I was redeveloping those breast buds. Then they flattened out. Now, it feels like I'm getting bumps and nodes throughout my still tiny breasts.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could my pubescent gynecomastia have accelerated my breast development? Am I experiencing a case of wishful thinking and seeing signs of development that should still be a few months away? Has something gone wrong?

Hi Addi,

I'm Megan, welcome to the site [emoji5].

HRT effects and our response to it can vary greatly. Breast tenderness, sensitivity and buds beneath the nipples are good signs of development. I had quite a bit of breast fat remaining from weight loss that seems to have given me a head start. If you have any concerns,  please talk with your doctor,  otherwise,  I'll just say enjoy the ride!

In the meantime I'll ask you to hop on over to the Introductions thread and create a post to tell us a little bit more about yourself so we can get to know you a little better and greet you properly, if you'd like.

Also I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them.

I took Spiro for 25 years for heart disease. Besides killing my sex drive it gave me moobs. So I was sporting some A's before beginning the estrogen just over a year ago. Now they are C's.So in my experience it is possible for your moobs to grow. But then again so did my butt.  ;D

I experienced male breast growth in my teens, by the time I was in grade 11, I could almost fill a C cup.
Once when we being sized for costumes in musical theatre, after taking my measurements everyone realized I had bigger breasts then some of the girls who had also been outfitted for costumes. I was laughed at and made fun of.
No wonder why I dropped out of the production and that semester of school.
Fast forward 20 years(ouch)...undergoing HRT my breast have increased to a nice fitting D cup.
Partly due to my breast development now, it was time to come out at work. Before HRT I could feel small fat tissue under my nipples, after starting HRT my breast became super sensitive, that fat tissue was no longer there, replaced by breast tissue. Sometimes it hurts to touch but if the discomfort means that there is development then so be it.
Having gynecomastia then starting HRT may not promote bigger breast growth but if you have a bigger breasts at the  starting point and then see a cup or two growth needless to say you would have bigger boobs.

Hi Addi and welcome! Please come in and stay a while.

It's magic, isn't it? It's about becoming a woman in some personal way. Now, like you, I've had breasts since I was 12. I'm now 56. I had all the usual emotions about them - negative stigma and trying to hide them. I've been on HRT for almost a year now. They awoke from their long slumber soon after I started. They've become slightly larger in cup but they have always been a "B" no matter how heavy or light I was.

I don't think it's acceleration, really. The big change is the resumption of internal growth from a time when that was frozen by male hormones. I can feel the glands and support tissue doing things inside. Thickening, adding, building. They're heavier, denser. I can say for the first time in my life I'm not ashamed of them anymore. They alternatively hurt or itch and then it stops for a day and then starts again. I'm amazed to see them and feel them. I love when I'm laying on my side and feel their weight. I love the sensitivity and the larger aureolas. I had my first mammogram earlier this year. Amazing to see the pictures.

Enjoy! You have a lot to look forward to.
