Kendra, I'm so glad you're home safe and well, you take it easy now,  no pogo-sticking, bungee-jumping, or trampolining!

Beth/Saha, you take care of that special lady! I know you will because it's clear how much you all love each other; but there's a bunch of people here who do too.

I am glad that you are back home safely Kendra and that things appear to be going very well for you.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Kendra, a day (10 days) late and a dollar short, that's me.  I just found this thread so let me add my congratulations to all the others.  I'm so happy for you, hon.

Home, and safe with Saha and Bethany.  I'm so glad you have such loving folks to care for you in recovery.  I know you're strong, but don't be tempted to push things just yet. That's some serious surgery that takes time to heal properly.

Be safe, and heal well!

Awwww - thank you all!  Or i should say us all, we are connected in so many ways and experiences.

Here's the Baklava from the farmer's market near the hospital.  I bought them from a very nice lady, and was then curious about the "Syrian Sweets Exchange" sign at her booth.  At the airport I found a news article and immediately recognized the lady I had purchased these from.  At her original home town, a rocket hit her family's car (not everyone survived) and bullets went through their family home.  Some people's journeys through life contain incredibly tragic moments followed with such courage.  Much as I admire people here who have fought far more than I have to get closer to a life as our true selves in our own ways.

Better than being home, I am staying with Beth & Saha for awhile.  I'll return home after I have enough strength to outrun Laurie and her truck at least in first gear.

Hi Kendra,

Greetings from (currently) damp and rainy Florida!

I'm glad to hear that you made it home safe and sound and are being taken care of. It seems like such a long road to recovery from something like this but with only a few exceptions, our lives are just full of long roads, aren't they?

I'm with the other folks on here - please don't overdo it or push yourself too hard. In the short time I've had to get to know you, I know your personality isn't the type that likes to sit still, so this has got to be a bit maddening but have patience.

Who knows? Maybe you'll shave a little time off of your 3-mile run now that you're carrying a bit less mass.  ;D

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Glad that you made it back and have friends to help you out! Having support sure makes life easier! I know that life for the next while will be schedule driven. Patience is the word! I know that was easier said than done for me. We all heal/ recover at different rates so listen to you body. For me it was pretty easy going, as long as I followed the protocols.

All the Best! Hugs

I was out walking the city of Winter Park, Florida after doing lunch with Cassie, and suddenly got the inexplicable urge to know how you're feeling...

I am doing great, far better than I expected at this point in time.  But I must also say GCS has its challenges and unavoidable pain.  And then there is dilation, and the first month in particular.

I just drove to Eastern Washington State and back to run a few errands (170 mile / 275km round trip) - Saha went along.  I hate to admit getting my own car briefly stuck in my other driveway in deep snow a few hours ago but I did... keys to my 4WD truck were at a different property a ten minute walk away, roads clear but snow everywhere else.  Saha stopped me from using the snow shovel.  Neighbor gave my car a quick pull with his truck, problem quickly solved.  I'm back at Beth & Saha's now.

Kendra & Saha

I was driving my old Audi although I'll have to rename it - as of Jan 18 my audi changed to an innie.

I'll write a larger post in the next day or two with the list of exactly what I brought for the GCS trip and found essential or not, and what's needed at home on return.  And things I found helpful to do while there.  Many others before me have done this (Moni, Michelle, Tia Anne) and I'd like to pass along similar information in case this can help anyone else.

Kendra,

Remember that old song, "There's no business like snow business like no business...ugh... for people who have had vaginoplasty. Na na na na na na na..." Don't make me sing it. It ain't pretty.
