*When We Try*
                           🖤
A word. Piercing,sharp and deadly.
Perfectly aimed at the weakest part of your armor.

Well planned and conceived to hurt, No to kill.

The spark in your heart, the cautious smile you dare to share...is the bullseye.

They know you are afraid, they know you doubt, they know collapse can be a moment away.

The tower you built is vulnerable. It feels strong and safe when you're  at peace. But its only as  reliable as its fragile foundation.

Years to build and moments to wreck. That easy.

Reinforce it with bravado and sighs.

Replace the shattered stone with something not quite as strong as before. After all, its another quick repair, another temporary patch and you hope it holds.

So many patches, so many bandages holding it together but it will do, it has to.

Today I woke and checked my phone. There was a g+ hangouts message on it from a pretty CIS girl I never spoke to before. She said "Hi" and I responded with the same. I usually don't converse on hangouts but I felt good waking  up on this beautiful sunny day.

Then she told me that I was a "->-bleeped-<-ing  guy" and she called me a "fake". The next rapid fire comment was that I am a "sick ->-bleeped-<-ing bitch" and a "pretender" and a "man".

I have no idea who she was or why she chose me but despite being complete strangers to each other, she knew exactly where I was
vulnerable...my Achilles heel.
You'd think we'd get numb to the hate but we don't...not really.

I just wanted to share this mostly because I need to get it out. Why the words of a disturbed person on the attack hurt so much is daunting...but they did.
And so yet another addition to life's  potpourri of experiences ... time to move on...next...
