I might try some fried SPAM tonight.

Growing up my mom frequently fixed fried SPAM as a breakfast meat....  just do not over-cook it and dry it out... a good heating up is all it needs.

Roll

Full confession here. Until recently I didn't know what corned beef was. I thought it actually hard corn in it and only came in those nasty cans. Did I mention this already, I feel like maybe I did? Anywho, yeah. Apparently it doesn't. So I saw a corned beef brisket on sale earlier after I got back from my misadventure with the pizza and cancelled laser appointment. Bought it, cooked it, ate it along with some of the asparagus I've listed recipe for before. I liked it. I'd do a different seasoning next time, maybe more of a Jerk-chicken inspired glaze like i saw some recipes use (I couldn't find my allspice so didn't this time), but was good and cheap.

Corn Beef Hash - An excellent breakfast staple up there with biscuits and gravy, ham and eggs, et al.

Roll

Seasoned with packet it came with, added some clove. Wrapped tightly with foil on a broiler pan with water below the rack, 2 and a half hours at 325 (it was a small brisket), then removed from foil and covered in a brown sugar and dijon mustard glaze, put under broiler on both sides to really crisp up and render out the fat layer.

I would usually do a different method for something like that, but I wanted to cook it tonight and only had a few hours. Was still super tender.

I like to throw it in the crockpot and go to work, that usually gets it done.  :)

That is right.  SPAM is actually cooked in the can that it is packaged in at the processing plant, so it could be eaten right out of the can, as it is fully cooked.  Many people like to fry it some.  As you say, do not overdo it.

The above must be an example of the SPAM messages and emails that come in everyday, huh?

It's good to learn something new everyday!  I did not know until now that SPAM is cooked in the can and not cooked and canned.

SPAM also has a few different formulations depending on the foreign country where it is sold.

SPAM is also stolen in larger quantities now from stores in Hawaii, after the state raised the dollar amount of goods that must be stolen to make the theft a felony.

Back in the day, the difference between a misdemeanor and felony was so much but produce and meat products had a lower dollar value so less could be penalized more.

I've a good mind to catch me a leprechaun and shake 'em by one leg for a bit of coin then go to the grocery
