Note: You can answer any of below questions if you think it applies to you! (i.e. even if you haven't given birth but have some ideas on those questions or what you've been thinking)

1. Have you given birth to a child before transitioning?

1B. If yes, how did that make you feel? Did it cause you some dysphoria? (having a child, carrying, breastfeeding etc...) Or did the joy of having a child overshadow any possible uncomfortableness?

1C. Did having a child make a difference on your gender identity? Did it make it stronger (feeling you are a man, NOT a woman!), did you try to put it in the back of your mind, did you try to just turn into a good woman/mother? Did having a child make you question yourself or your identity (i.e. "how can I be a man if I'm a mom/having a child" etc.)?

1D. Did it make you depressed or did you feel 'this is now final' (=I'm a woman and going to be staying this way)?

2. Have you given birth to a child during/after transitioning?

2B. How did that make you feel? (you can check out 1B, 1C, 1D)

2C. What lead you to that decision?

2D. What kind of support have you got?

2E. Have people questioned your identity because of this? How did that make you feel? Or do you not just care?

3. If not, are you going to give birth after transitioning?

3B. Again, what are your feelings on it? Do you find it the 'necessary evil' to have biological children? Do you find it just natural? Do you feel joy of the idea?

3C. What do you expect to feel during pregnancy?

3D. What has lead you to that decision?

4. If you haven't given birth or are not going to, do you still want children? In what way? (adoption, maybe?)

4B. Has your gender identity played a role in not wanting/having children? (i.e. not able to, not having found a partner yet, the idea causes dysphoria etc.)

5. What kind of protection do you use/have used in the past?

6. If you have children, how have they reacted to your transition? When/how did you tell them?

My own take on it:

1. Have you given birth to a child before transitioning?

No, I haven't. I've always loved children though. So I always thought as a kid I will have children of my own, like everyone. Though I never could imagine giving birth... When I heard about C-section I was like - that's the way to go!

1B, 1C, 1D:
If I had had biological children (which I can't imagine), I'm sure those are the things I might have been feeling... I think it might have messed up my mind big time. And made me depressed. And felt 'final' or 'now there's no way out'.

2. Have you given birth to a child during/after transitioning?
Nope. And still not medically transitioned... but socially though ages ago.

2B. How did that make you feel? (you can check out 1B, 1C, 1D)

I can imagine (no, I CAN'T imagine!) it would make me feel very, very dysphoric... I can't imagine myself being pregnant & breastfeeding for example... When I play with the idea, it makes me wanna die, basically... Like THE WORST thing I could do to myself!!! (And ruin my life completely.)

2C. What lead you to that decision?
See above.

2E. Have people questioned your identity because of this? How did that make you feel? Or do you not just care?
I have sometimes wondered WHY would any trans man want to go through that!!! But of course I now understand it's because wanting to have biological children, which is perfectly natural.

3. If not, are you going to give birth after transitioning?

No. Even the idea of storing eggs feels like...!!!

3B. Again, what are your feelings on it? Do you find it the 'necessary evil' to have biological children? Do you find it just natural? Do you feel joy of the idea?
I can imagine it can be any of those things for people who wanna go that route.

4. If you haven't given birth or are not going to, do you still want children? In what way? (adoption, maybe?)
Before I always thought I'd adopt. Even as a kid. I've been hugely interested in adoption & adoption stories etc. But as for now we have decided not to have children, mainly because it's such a huge commitment. Plus I like to travel. A lot.

But I've always thought I might do some charity work etc. involving children! I really love children, you know.

4B. Has your gender identity played a role in not wanting/having children? (i.e. not able to, not having found a partner yet, the idea causes dysphoria etc.)
Might have, a little. Like I said, as a kid I always imagined having children of my own... But tbh as an adult I've realized that you must put your own life on hold and sacrifice everything for another human being... Who might grow up hating you, for example xD! I don't think children fit well in my lifestyle... Children need a stable environment & available parents which I don't think I can offer... Though I've always been good with children so it's partly a shame I don't get to raise one! But unfortunately I put my own life before everything... ;). Which I feel hasn't really even started yet.

Plus at least we can't get accidentally pregnant. (Which is a good thing, of course!)

5. What kind of protection do you use/have used in the past?

None, since I'm with a woman. That's one good thing about being a trans man, ;)!

1. No.
2. No.
3. No.
4. No, I don't want to have children. It would be way too much responsibility for me, and I don't think I would be a good parent. The pregnancy part isn't what's bothering me the most, it's the part that involves me having the full responsibility for another person for decades.
4B. My gender hasn't been a factor for my decision to not have children. Only my personality, dependency on others (allowance, my parents, etc), selfishness, anger issues and not particularly liking kids have played parts in that decision making of mine. I'm also not gonna save any eggs.
5. Condoms, birth control pills (before my transition), and some kind of "day after pills" which are like birth control pills but you just take one as soon after as possible instead of regularly. These pills are super expensive and shouldn't be used regularly. I only took it once and it was also before my transition. Otherwise, I've played russian roulette with it way too much. (Having unprotected sex and hoping I wouldn't get pregnant. Surprisingly it worked every time, though I don't recommend it. It's stress inducing.) These days I don't have piv sex at all so there's little to no risk of me ending up pregnant, depending on how far sperm can travel, I suppose.
6. N/A or I don't have kids so can't answer your last question.

Never had kids, and I will never voluntarily get pregnant, since that would personally step outside of my gender identity.
