Ideal weight at 6 foot

Hello,

I really love the wealth of information available here. It makes the process of transition and acceptance a bit less scary. I've been actively dieting for the last 8 weeks and have dropped from 120kg to 111kg. Looking at myself I see a lanky almost teenage body with a feminine fat distribution, and small but nicely shaped breasts, and an almost flat belly (pretty much what I was wanting so its all going nicely thank you). I'm thinking that my goal of 100kg will lead to looking skinny and I need to stop at around 105kg to ensure there is enough body fat left to ensure there are some nice subtle curves, but no nasty bumpy bits around the hips and lower middle.

As a man I'd want to be around 90-95kg for a 'healthy weight range, but at that weight its not going to work! Whats a good weight be aim for?

I'm 5'11" and am aiming to maintain between 75 to 79 kg.  Right now I'm in that range.  Although one's healthy bodyweight is dependent on their muscle mass, 100 kg at 6'0" sounds kind of heavy to me.

That's good info.  I'm at 80 kg, so I'm near target range.  I am 5'-10.5" now (I used to be an inch taller).  Thanks Wonder Woman!

Still some rather large cycling muscles in my legs. Maybe over time that will change. Thanks for the info.

It's not just weight, it's body type.

For me, in 5'10", and I used to weigh about 108kg (I needed a converter for this - us Americans and our silly insistence in using pounds). For me, it was way too much - aside from the weight on my face, a lot of it sat at my gut. I was basically pear shaped, and it made it harder to look feminine - I had a hard time disguising the stereotypical male beer gut I had. I've since lost a lot of weight, down to about 86kg, and I feel phenomenal. It's still like to lose a little more, but even at this I see a huge difference in how clothes fit, since I'm not trying to squish a beer gut into a dress.

But had I been fit, I probably wouldn't have needed to lose as much. But since my weight was centrally located in my gut, and not distributed as muscle, it needed to go.

According to the BMI Chart, even at that weight you may be a little on the heavy side. There is an exception to the BMI chart and that is if you are carrying your weight as muscles instead of fat, it's healthy to weigh more. The real determination should be made off your percentage of body fat. I am 6'2" and around 170 pounds or 77 KG for comparison.

I cannot use a converter while on a sub- 1 Mbps ADSL connection I'm fixin' to ditch.

At 5' 10", people cannot tell if I gained or lost weight between when I weighed 185 lbs, or my present 160 lbs. At 185, the added weight went to the right places, and my butt and boobs were just nicer.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.

9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.

I'm 6'3" and getting shorter. I also hover around 220 lbs. But I don't look overweight anymore compared to when I was 300 lbs. I want to get down to between 180 - 190. I spent my first 28 years at between 140 and 160. Too skinny for my taste. That required me to play 5 hours of bball a day. I quit because I kept getting weaker and weaker due to emerging heart problems. Three years later I was up to 220 on my way to 300. Depression is a terrible thing and I am glad to be over it.

At my peak cycling fitness I was 85kg, cycled 400+ km a week, looked like a death camp survivor from the waist up,  and had huge muscles on my legs - so big finding jeans was hard. I also ate an enormous amount of food, and it was hard to keep weight on.  Even now, 6  years later I still have smaller but well defined leg muscles. Fat redistribution makes them look pretty good, its just the bit around the middle that has to go! I'll keep on going to 100 then if there is more to do a little more from there. Thanks for the info everyone.

I'm 6' 1" and at my checkup last week I weighed 155lbs (70kg). My doctor said I needed to gain a few pounds. For someone who had a 40-inch waist in 8th grade I never thought I would hear those words. I started this journey at 185lbs (84kg). I plan to get back up to around 160lbs (72.5kg) - 165lbs (75kg). Hopefully it will go to the right places. At least this is the right season to add some weight.

This is so body type dependant, and varies with muscle mass and all.. The BMI scale is a vague indicator of a healthy weight at best; some of the most health conscious and fit people I know are overweight according to it. Aim for what you think looks and feels right, not what that horribly outdated chart says!

I'm 6ft (183cm) and 74-76kg, varies around there.. So 75kg I suppose. I am untrained and aim to change that, so I imagine I will lose a bit of fat but gain weight in muscle.

I am (mostly) 6ft. At my high(?) point I was 250 lbs, or 113 Kg. Today I am 145 lbs or 65 kG and all I still see all the big blobs of blubber that was once (and still) me.  About the only change to tell me it aint so is my ass hurts more sitting on hard stuff.

Ideally I think another 10 lbs (4kG?) will be almost acceptable. Truth be told, dropping as much weight as I did, even 40 years ago, still carries scars
