Well, it's finally happened! I had my bottom surgery and I couldnt be happier with the result! I learned a few things from this experience and I wanted to pass them on to you ladies.
1. Big names are not always the best option!
For a long time I coveted having Marcy Bowers do my GRS. I swore I wouldn't leave the US for surgery so there were only a few options. When I was ready I contacted Bowers office. I realized that with the name comes a long wait. So i also contacted a doctor in California and found just about the same result. Luckly, I was fortunate to able to find an up and coming surgeon that has been doing plastic and general surgery for years. He is so gifted that he makes Marcy Bowers look like a newb. His name is Dr Stiller with Palouse Surgeons in Moscow, ID. He hasn't really showed up on radar yet as I am his #8 in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. He is incredible!!
2. This is not to be taken lightly. (Not that I did, just making a point)
This surgery is real deal and shouldnt be taken lightly. it's real deal pain too. While i was in the hospital for the five days required bedrest, there are three times I recall wanting to die because of the pain. I have a high tolerance for pain and still it hurt. do yourself a favor an make sure you expect the worst and be surprised if its not as bad as you think. the packing really is horrible. it feels like a brick between your legs. be assured tho, most of the pain is fleeting and the nurses keep you well medicated.
3. Fear of the unknown can make you think crazy things.
I've always wanted this surgery. always knew I needed it but when presented with a date, my mind went into a tailspin. Remeber all the reasons why you want/need the surgery and defeat that doubt as it arises. those memories helped me tremendously! stay positive and know that you would not have sought this surgery had you not wanted the outcome. this is something about finally setting a surgery date that makes you go crazy!
I'll share more as it strikes me! I hope I can be helpful to someone out there.
