When I went to my stylist I went in with the expectation of getting fusion hair extensions. for those of you that don't know these type of extensions are bound to the hairs in very small strands and when installed properly you can pull your hair back and such. they typically cost 1k-2k USD for an install and last ~4-6 months.
When she did the consultation she said that my hair (which was down to my shoulders at least the parts lower in my scalp) she said my hair was too short to make the hair extensions look right. She then went on and explained that my hair needs to be down to my shoulders from the top of my head, not the bottom or your hair comes out looking like a mullet. This was an aveda spa and salon, which is one of the best places to get you hair cut in my area and it has great reviews
So I asked her what I could do to my hair to make it look decent now without increasing the time until I could have the extensions installed. she said she could trim the bottom parts of my hair so that the top strands were around the same length. I had that done and I was very pleased with it, all of a sudden my hair went from a mess to easy to manage with just a brush and straightener. She didn't touch the hair that was limiting me its actually down to the middle of my neck right now.
I think its really worth getting something done with it in the middle, it makes everything so much more bearable and when your hair does finally grow out, it'll look cute(hopefully

).
She honestly won me over when she told me that she couldn't do hair extensions as she was delaying/denying a big sale. to me it shows that she cares about her work and my hair, and that's invaluable to me as just prior to this I had a very bad experience with another salon and actually walked out. The last thing I want is someone messing with my hair that doesn't care.
