I think the problem comes Sarah, because you think we are similar than we really are.

I think, being a TS, is a truly week uniting point.
I think that there are many communities of opinions under the TS label, and these can
devellop a somewhat common response to the world.

But, there is no such thing as a TS worldview
and trying to hammer us all in the wrong shaped hole won't work.
I'm beginning to agree with you Keira.

I supose I thought that what we have in common would unite us over obstacles.

It seems though, we don't have very much in common.

We are all gender varriant in some way.

That is about it. Isn't it?

This conclusion is mixed bag. I am concerned greatly if we can't at least come to compromises on issues that effect our community. Politicaly speaking this is important, as if we can't agree on some things, or at least map out the issues that are important to us, then how are we to say those to others?

I have seen people here arguing over whether one has a right to use the restroom or not.

If WE can't agree. or at least find a livable compromise, how are we to tell thet to others? How are we to get laws passed?

Labels suck, but there is enough confusion arround Trans issues as it is, without having five different labels.  There is no way we can brand our cause (and I would suggest that we DO have a cause) if we cant even agree on terms.

This is of some concern to me.

I heard Berligh once say to me that she belived that a "community" as such in the Trans. community would never exist. I disagree. I think it does exist. What doesn't exist is consensus.

I think we have a real need to get a majority head count regarding issues that could turn into legal activist causes. We do need activists if we are going to get anywhere. And what are they going to say? "Um, well, we want 'this', -except for some of us, -who don't... and they want 'this' instead..."

It gets a little mad.

If I had to say the number one problem in out community, that would be it. Lack of organized communication. It's got to be streamlined if we are ever to get anything done.

Do you ever wonder what the lobby groups go for?

Whatever they want. I can't even explain the difference to my peers of Transgender vs. Transexual. More and more, I just use Trans-Identified which seems to be what the PRIDE groups are doing.

Someone put a post poll regarding the "age" of our community. I put junior high.

That was also the majority vote.  We gotta stop being so juvinile and find a way to take a vote. Should we be able to use the restroom of our choice? And with what restrictions?
No guys standing up? What do we call our community? The Trans-Identified? works for me.

We don't need a consensus. We need a majority.

That's my opinion

Does ayone have any ideas?

The poll idea sorta wokrs, it is a vote, perhaps a varriant of that? Maybe somthing else?

Sarah

I think we just can't be perfect about it.

My Teacher once said "Perfect, ain't gettin anything done".

I agree.

I think we need to let go of having 100% consensus.

If we want to get things done.

EDIT:
QuoteA majority opinion would only to injustice to a minority.
Having zero opinion does injustice to all of us, as it continues the political problems especially.
