FFS in Marbella - any sensory loss in jaw or chin?

 Hi everybody!

I`m planning on calling and booking a consultation with facialteam in Marbella for chin and jaw feminization.

But I´m worried about permanent sensory loss. I´ve tried to read as much as I can on this forum to see what the long term effects are but I haven´t really found anything. My biggest fear is to have my face paralyzed 

I have a few questions, and if anyone can answer them I would be more than happy.

- Has anyone done jaw and/or chin feminization with facialteam ? Were you happy with the results?

- Did you get any sensory loss? And was it permanent? How much did it affect you?

- How did the healing and sensory loss change over time? And how was it after 2 years for example?

I had FFs with a different surgeon, but I know ladies who went  to Marbella for their FFS. They all look fantastic.

With any surgery there is a risk of paralysis, but I have not heard of any from Marbella. The major nerves are fairly large and are easily located and avoided by any well trained surgeon. The lack of sensation is with the smaller nerves which tend to grow back slowly. It is common to have some numbness for 6 months to a year after surgery. My numbness lasted about 8 months, with the slowest healing on the top of my head for the scalp advancement.

Numbness is normal following chin/jaw work.  There should not be paralysis or weakness though.  I'm 3 1/2 months post op from mandibular contouring, and I have some very light, residual tingling.  It's not bothersome and serves as a reminder that my healing is not yet done, nor the swelling completely gone.

I have not had FFS yet, but as I understand it there is that risk of sensory loss. I have watched a lot of the show "Botched". This is a warning they always give before any facial surgeries they do on there. There are many nerves on the face and should they accidental hit one, there could be consequences. It is always a possibility and we go in hoping everything will go to plan but, that is not always the case. Sensory loss doesn't really get better once those nerves are damaged they don't really grow back or heal. Yes we can get some mobility back but, never quite 100%! So just stay positive going into it and try not to worry much!!!

How is the swelling after 3,5 months?

No, I had my surgery done locally.  At 3.5 months, my swelling is still decreasing, and my sensation is improving.  Post-op, for example, my lower lip was numb.  The sensation there is totally back.  On the point of the chin, however, there is still mild tingling, and the edema has not resolved.
