Hello, I just have a question for everyone out there that has probably found themselves in my situation at one point, not on hrt but wishing I could do something about it even if its minor until I am on hormones. Overall iv read some conflicting results on diets that consists of things like soy etc which are supposedly helpful for feminization. However to me it seems like even if this where true these foods would be so minuscule and ineffective.

However, if you know any natural way such as diet or exercise or anything please post it below, im sure someone might find it handy and maybe a true meal plan could be formed with all the collected information to be a bit of a launching point for someone who is not ready, or is not able to start HRT.

Thanks for reading! ~<3 Alexis

Welcome to Susan's Place. There are a number of common foods that contain estrogen like compounds however in their natural state, their ability to feminize is minimal. These compounds are the bases of prescription estradiol as in a lab it's possible to tweak the structure converting it to estradiol. If your not ready to start HRT, the best thing you could do for your figure is if your overweigh, start getting your weight under control. While not impossible, it can be more difficult to lose weight after you start HRT.

Thank you so much for the tip, I myself am not overweight in the least, im actually slightly underweight despite my attempts to put on any muscle or weight. Do you know some of those foods that you mentioned, so I can add them to the list?

I think soy and sweet potato are two of them but don't expect much if anything from them. Soy beans have been a part of the asian diet for a long time and men are still men even after years of eating it. Remember that it's normal for animals to have both sex hormones present in their system. The dominant hormone tends to block the lesser one so even though you have estrogen in your system, it has little effect. If you want feminization, my advice would be to see a doctor and get the ball rolling.

You cannot get enough phytoestrogens from your diet to overcome your natural testosterone.  You are also unwittingly eating some phytoandrogens all the time.

Once you start HRT, phytoestrogens may actually inhibit the action of true bioidentical estrogen by competing for receptor sites.

moreso than phytoestrogens, diet can aid or harm feminization by promoting  or inhibiting the enzyme aromatase, as well as the activity of certain antiandrogenic compounds in diet such as beta sitosterol a plant sterol

In order to feminize, I suggest a diet mainly of fresh vegetables of all kinds and some fresh fruit. Not only will you lose weight (assuming you need to) by eating natural and avoiding processed foods, your heart will be much better for it as well.

Above all things, avoid meat products that come from animals that were fed hormones to promote muscle growth. When the animal is slaughtered, those hormones are still in that animals blood and you will get some of those hormones when you eat the meat. I will admit that this is a very small amount of hormones, but they are the wrong kind for us MTF folks.
