I had to stop estradiol about 3 weeks ago, until I can stop smoking, I went for a blood test 2 days ago and my levels are 10 points higher than when I was taking the estradiol. I just wanted to know if I am not taking the estradiol, and my levels are high still, am I still at risk for heart attack and/or stroke? I would ask my doctor but he wont be back until late February.  the only thing that I have been taking is phyoto estrogen creams and spironolactone. I am just worried cause I don't want to be at a higher risk. I already cut my smoking in half, and I am on my way to fully quitting, Just strange that it is higher than it was when I was on the medication. Thank you for any info you can give. Thing is I thought I was still seeing changes in my body, but just thought it was in my head. now that the levels are so high I must be getting changes. My testosterone levels have always been extremely low, when I was 1st tested my doctor told me I have the testosterone of a woman to begin with.

Estrogen is stored in bodyfat.  So one possibility is that if you are losing any weight the estrogen may be being released into your bloodstream from the fat stores as they are being used.

So that isn't the same as taking the pill itself, right? It isn't like I am going to have a heart attack because of the high levels?

It can raise your estradiol levels so I would assume that the effect would be similar to taking estradiol from an external source.  Over time though your levels should drop.  However, I'm not a Dr. and I don't know your risk of heart attack.
