hello TG community.  my name is katherine and i am currently male, but i hope to change that soon, very soon.  i am 19 years old and i realized that i wanted to be a woman when i was about 15.  i havent come out to my family yet as i have just made the final decision that i want to make the transition.  i have started practicing female voice and i privately crossdress.  i am still pretty scared about this whole thing due to fear of rejection from people who care about me.  i hope that i can build strength as a woman here and i can wait to update you all on my progress when i start making the transition.

Hi Katherine,  & welcome.

As I am sure you already know, you will find a lot of interesting, helpful and nice people here.

Just be true to yourself, get informed opinion(s) on your feelings, before making any decisions, and take it slowly.  You have your whole life ahead of you.  Nothing happens overnight unfortunately.

Looking forward to following your journey.

Good luck,

Jenny

Hi Katherine! Welcome to Susans!

Hey, if you weren't scared, I'd be worried aboutcha ;) Transition may be the most wonderful - and terrible - thing you'll ever go through. But hang in there, be careful and think things through, and it may go much smoother than you think.

You'll find a huge variety of people and experiences here. By all means feel free to explore! I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress!

And be sure to check out the Site Terms of Service and rules to live by if you get a chance ;)

thanks a lot.  i actually just found a local support group who's actually having a party on the first day im there, so not only will i be able to dress like myself in public for the first time, ill actually get to look my best and sparkle.  i'm so excited.  however since this is my first time it's going to be tough putting myself out there like that, but it will be an adventure, im sure.

Welcome to Susan's, Katy!

You're in the right place to find people whose experiences might be useful to you and who have open ears, hearts, and minds to share with you.

Have you seen a gender therapist yet?  That is the first step I would recommend to anyone beginning their journey to their true self.  The purpose of that therapist is to help you to find your real gender identity and recommend you to an endocrinologist or other physician for hormone replacement therapy, if found appropriate.

Please don't start self-medication as that can be very dangerous.

Again, welcome.

ROTFL, Pica Pica!  Thanks for the comic relief!  I've never heard it put quite like that.
