FTM Testosterone conversion to estrogen and use of aromatase inhibitor

Hi all
I recently discovered I am converting T to estrogen. I suspect I have been doing this since 2002, and thought I was simply intolerant to T so kept dose low. I have just been prescribed aromatase inhibitor. I am seeking advice on what to expect as far as severity of symptoms, and likely length of time it takes to get used to rapid reduction in estrogen (like instant menopause as I understand it)

Welcome to Susan's Place. Estrogen has really short half life in the body measured in hours so when the medication is working, any symptoms should appear in a few days. That said, Testosterone will replace what estrogen was doing in your body so you may see few symptoms. If you experience symptoms, they will be like menopause symptoms however they will only endure until your hormone levels are back to normal. When T or E was removed from my body, the primary symptom was hot flashes and they would last between a year or two. Not everybody experiences menopause in the same way so you might notice additional symptoms.
