Well I didn't win the whole thing, but I finished and didn't "par out" on any stages which is better than at least 1/3 of the shooters in attendance can say. Each stage had a 5 minute time limit, and with the kind of technical shooting combined with physical stupidity a lot of people ended up hitting that time limit. (physical stupidity included but was not limited to: throwing 29 kilo kettlebells, crawling under things, running 200 yards while shooting, etc... Just look up Desert Brutality match on youtube in the next few days and you'll find lots of videos)
So while I wasn't in the top 3 for my division, I honestly don't know my actual rank but I'm pretty confident I'm in the upper 1/2 to 1/3. The match ran late and they took shortcuts on posting scores so nobody knows exactly yet other than the top 3 in each division. I know that I did crush a lot of egos and even the guys from the Camp Pendleton shooting team that were on my squad started commenting on how well I was doing. No misgendering at all other than the old friends who just slip once in a while, and all in all it went great. But now I'm covered in bruises, and have to catch a flight home in the morning, so I'm going to go collapse in bed with my girlfriend who was my official cheerleader all weekend.
