Here's a dumb one to follow up my previous real one... Someone accidentally said ma'am to me. Total slip of the tongue based on nothing that I was doing or presenting which happens a million times each day, but still... was really fun to hear. ;D

I have to walk my sister down the aisle this Saturday.  That means I'm wearing a suit which I don't like to do anymore.  However it's a day of the dead themed wedding so I bought a day of the dead ladies mask and sparkly hat to wear with the suit.  My sisters only comment was, "oh that's not too girly".  Um, it's just girly enough right now:)

Not today, but on Friday the 13th of October, I came out to the world on Facebook, with absolutely no negative feedback!

Story here: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,228563.msg2037025.html#msg2037025 (Warning: It ain't short, but I kinda think it's worth it. I'm biased.)

Today, after 50 years of wanting it, I finally got my ears pierced. That was followed by dinner and shopping with my wife and my dear neighbor, who has a keen sense of style, and who helped me pick out some new clothes. That was topped off by warm girl-talk on the ride home.

How awesome to just be one of the girls!

Remembering how good Monday felt.  I had my first session of electrolysis and it went better than expected.  She was able to clear my upper lip, lower lip, and start on my chin.  Afterward, in the parking lot I got Ma'amed by a stranger for the first time.  Granted it was in a dark parking garage but we were standing only a few feet apart,  I was unshaven with no makeup, and she heard my voice.  She needed some directions and at the end of the conversation she said "thank you, ma'am".  I nearly cried I was so happy.

I was complemented on my necklace yesterday! I raided the wife's craft supplies and made me a new one. I was wearing it when I went to pay the light bill and a lady said she loved it and asked if I made it. All of the other ladys had to have a look to and find out how I made it. It's fun to just girl talk! {especially as one of the girls!}
I finally get to be me, and I don't want today to be my last! That's a very nice feeling.  ;D ;D ;D

Think (well, I'd like to think) I'm picking up learning make-up pretty well. Of course, I'm only watching tutorials, learning the theory behind it. The implementation will probably be much harder, but I'm going to practice, practice, practice, when I get the chance (I'm going away alone in 10 days)

Today was pretty good.

Took my wife to her new doctor for an appointment.  As we went in she told me she had to use the restroom.  I said I did too, and we went into the women's room, together.  The ladies in there said nothing.

The bad.

My brother doesn't want me to present female around my niece.  She is 3 years old.  He says it will cause her confusion about genders.  He wants me to hide it for another 5 years, when she's 8.

The best part though was the Megabot versus Kuratas robot duel.

Hope the link works.

That's too bad. I've got friends with a 3-year old that just explained to him that I'm not a boy anymore, and his response was 'OK!'. Does a 3-year old really even understand gender? Seems like it'd be easier on her to get used to it now.

GAAAHH!!!  Did that finally happen?! It's been so long since I'd heard anything about it I'd completely forgotten!!  :icon_joy:  :icon_chainsaw: :icon_boxing: :icon_joy:
Don't spoil it for me! (and no, the link didn't work for me - that's OK, I'll find it)

Well this happened yesterday, but it still made me happy. Another step in my journey...

I talked to my HR representative, who also happens to head our LGBTQ employee resource group. It was an awesome conversation. We even started discussing dates for when I planned to go full time and she sent me links to some resources I may find helpful. I mentioned about wanting to get a trachea shave before going full time, and she said our insurance covers everything related to transitioning and she will put me in contact with someone who can help me get the right boxes checked. This is finally starting to feel real...
