Congrats Michelle and Laurie!

After my roommate posted my video on her Facebook page I received a message from one of her friends.  It started out by saying she had been following the postings of the things my roommate and I had been doing saying it looked like we have a lot of fun.  Then she added "I had no idea you were trans."   It turns out she has a 16 year old trans daughter.  She said that when they watched the video about me they both cried.  I'm going to connect up with them and try to offer support for them.

Loved your video link Jess, that was great. Looking glamorous, professional, and confident.

Interesting to see the discussion with your kids about what they should call you. Mine is too young to speak, but I'm not comfortable with 'mum'. Weirdly I'm more ok with 'dad', despite being no kind of male and not looking like one either. But I don't want him encountering problems in the future, although I fought hard and planned extensively and sacrificed a lot for his existence and biological tie to me.

I was thinking maybe just Alex. Although he's going to be getting use to me being addressed as 'mum' when he starts talking, strangers already do it and will probably continue What happens will happen, he'll no doubt call me whatever he wants, with I guess a whole extra as he grows up! Lol.

I liked the idea of being called "D".  My wife passed away so my daughter calling me mom is kinda out of the question out of respect for her mom.  I suggested MoDa but sounds too weird.  Then I heard Jess mentioned that one of her kids asked about "D" and aside from not changing my fem name from Cassi to Dassi, I think "D" between her and I in future public will do.  Again, Jess, thanks!

D was a nice compromise I thought. Affectionate and intimate without people having to know all your business. We shall see, got ages before it's even coming up. His biological mother is being called 'first name' because she's very modern and wanted that. Hence Alex for me. But it's not very intimate, and I'm a bit vain so I want everyone to know my gorgeous boy is mine.

Even though my ex-wife is horrible towards me, I do not want to usurp the title she has earned by giving birth to them.  She too is modern and I guess the kids may call her by her first name.  She always called her parents by their first names and I hated that.  I have one son who is always calling me by my first name and it bothers me to no end.  I guess I'm just going to have to get used to that because he doesn't want to change and is very stubborn like his mother.  They didn't include in the story the comment that he made the day I came out to them.  He asked me if I was going to become a democrat too?  I told him I was willing to make some changes in my life but nothing as drastic as that...  All in all the "D" name is a good compromise.  I like the fact that I am a father to my kids and I don't think I will ever want to run away from being called Dad.  It is a uniquely personal journey for all of us and how we relate to the others in our lives.  Personally, what ever works for a family is what is right.

Words well spoken, or typed!!

When my daughter found out, which wasn't plan, she asks "What??? Are you becoming a Caitlyn Jennings???

The words that fell out of my mouth (still reeling from her finding out) were: No, a better version.

Oh well :)

Coming home to find white lilies in two favourite vases, placed there by the man I'm seeing. One on the coffee table, one on my dressing table.

Opening the fridge to find my favourite things were in there, and he'd even stocked the cupboard with wine. With a note saying 'don't drink it all you f***ing lush, save some for me X'.

Finding he'd scrubbed my bath out, changed my sheets, and perfumed them with my essential oils. Edit - the bed also had this months Vogue and Vanity Fair, the latest Private Eye, and the Financial Times and The Guardian all fanned out.

And left a letter saying he'll miss me during his conference trip and to enjoy quality time with my baby (another reason I won't be able to drink all the wine). As an addition he'd bought the baby a very cute jumper.

That's sweet... I'm jealous! Haha

Yeah, he's adorable. Kind, sensitive, educated, entertaining, good looking, and 6'4. Very kind in fact. I'm jealous of myself lol.

I'm bad at DIY, so he completed the nursery in my flat and it looks amazing. I wish he was here tonight so it was the three of us in my home. I like our pillow conversations about everything under the sun, no holds barred.

I just wish I could have his baby, because I would. But we are good with our blended and slightly complicated modern family set up.

Roll

A few things! One, I found a place to buy my comic books. I won't make full value, but they are so incredibly difficult to move that attempting to get full value would be like a full time job. I think I can get enough to cover most of hair transplants out of them plus a few games!! Took once box over there earlier as a test run and they gave me cash on the spot. ... Do surgeons usually accept cash? :D

Two, my courage is definitely way up. After selling my comics and just... I dunno, life? I was on a high, and I was deadset I was going to get my ears pierced, I was in the mall anyway. Piercing pagoda place was empty when I was in the comic store, and I went to head right to it after making the sale but in the meanwhile a huge family had setup shop... having like 3-4 infants ears pierced... and it was like... some big event I guess? So yeah they took over the place. I wandered over to Claires, as even though they are aimed at tween and teen girls, I read they are happy to do adult, presenting male or not, ear piercings and tend to be good. Unfortunately, once I got to the store and saw exactly what was in it... was a little much. But I was going to try, only one person in it so I was going to wait until they left just to not seem like a pedophile (seriously, it felt super creepy being there), rushing in to get your ears pierced is one thing, waiting in line seemed like something else entirely. So went to look back at the piercing pagoda, no luck there yet, still on infant #1 or 2. Weird. Went back to Claires, now like 3 people in it just hanging out. Back to pagoda, the party continued. Back to Claires... like 5 or 6 people. This continued for like 45 minutes before I ran out of time and had to leave to go pick up my sister (I needed car so took her to school and borrowed hers for day). So while I can't say for sure I would have gone through with it, I really, really felt like I was going to and I was willing to stay as long as I needed to. (Also drank a Blood Orange Diet Coke while walking back and forth, super weird drink that I don't know what I feel about it.) I didn't even feel defeated afterward, just frustrated as any normal customer who didn't get a chance to buy what they were planning to buy because of crowds!

Third, apparently my lips have changed dramatically just in the past few weeks and I really only just noticed. I just sort of looked in the mirror a while ago and was totally confused. Asked my sister if she thought I was crazy and she said yeah she definitely noticed, she thought I was wearing perfectly done lipstick for the past 3 days! (Like, lipstick and nothing else with visible beard shadow, which would be pretty weird.) So yeah. I don't know what the deal is. I didn't think HRT did anything to lips? If its a side effect of something else I really need to figure out what, because it looks amazing.

(Edit: Also, I'm loving what hair I have lately and can't wait to get a full head of it. Sort of looks like Morena Baccarin's hair when she has it shorter and natural, where its totally curly but starts to go into waves. I am super, super curious how its going to end up!)

Great news Ellie!! I got my ears pierced at Claires. They had no problem with a 42 year old lady getting her ears pierced, so you'd be fine. Heck, I went in there a month earlier to buy the silly 'Best Friends' rainbow heart necklace I share with my gal pal (they probably thought I was buying it for my daughter or something though).

Kewl - I want to get my nose pierced but don't have a clue if there's some secret signal from which part is pierced.

I had exactly the same experience!  I was putting on lipstick one day and suddenly noticed that those were someone else's lips.  It was the weirdest thing: I didn't recognize them at all.  The change had taken place over the space of one week.

Yes, HRT does change your lips!  :)

Rumples

Having no sleep.

The new born was up late trying to sit up, giggling. An hour later our eldest got up due to a bad dream.  Cue getting her superhero dress up out, loading up Overwatch and hearing her trying to smack talk the opposing team. Brilliant.
Turn to page 137:
You enter the room, Rumples slowly turns to face you, tilts her head and let's out a slight smirk. Everything you were, are, and ever will be disintegrates into absolute nothingness.
Your adventure ends here.

Got two from yesterday.

Got to work and laying on my desk was an updated phone extension list, with my name as Tonya.  I've been going by TJ at work since I came out there and I'm pretty sure no one even knew what that stood for until someone asked me about what I was doing on the two days I took PTO for this last week.

Second was that because I hold a professional license from the state, I needed to inform them of my name change within 30 days.  I was able to login in to the self service web site where we go to pay our renewals etc and change things there.  Did that late Thursday night and of course it says takes one business day.

Didn't think it would be that simple to change and it wasn't. I got an email that said I needed to send a copy of court order or some other legal document with new name. Still not too hard,  so I send that off and get an auto reply that some one will look at my email within 3 business days.  I figured it will get done on time so whatever.

Get an email back around 4pm that it's all done, so I print out my new license and put it up on the wall (legal requirement).

This made me happy a week ago, but I waited for my daughter to give her permission to post.

Just a few days after I had my last follow up visit with my dr. and had an emotional outburst, my grand daughter Gabriella was born on March 19 at 04:37 am, 5lb 15oz and 19 inch. This made me so happy. <3
