Wow, Bobbiesue! Getting the right birth certificate is awesome!

I was looking at my arms today and noticed that I have a ton of longish hairs...but they are *white* and not the dark black. In other words, they basically look like any other woman's arms.  That's new for me.  :)  Too bad the rest of my body hair isn't doing that, but I'll take the arms being nice.

After coming out to my older sister last week, she now calls daily with ideas on dressing and new body care products. She called again this morning to tell me she's sending a box of shampoos and conditioners! I'm on a limited budget and her generosity, love and caring are a true blessing :)

Last weekend I had a random fortune cookie, and the fortune was "Nothing shall stand in your way the coming week." THE COOKIE WAS RIGHT.

I just worked up the courage and got my ears pierced.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Small titanium studs right now, so nothing too fancy, but ..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I got back to car I just started crying in pure joy, had to pull myself together to be able to drive home!

Also while there, I was talking to the piercing tech lady and wound up coming out to her. Turned out someone close to her is going through it all as well. So I told her about susans and gave her my name here in case that person wants to reach out.

I remember mine like it was yesterday.  It's an amazing feeling to get those ears punctured.  I know I had a giant smile, despite the wincing from my discomfort, and fear of needles.  I did find out that my ears are sensitive to the metal of the post, so I have to be careful when getting new earrings.  Be careful when you change them, there is a chance for renewed swelling.  Also, work up the weight used, don't just jump to a bigger/heavier set.

As I'm walking around NYC today, I keep glancing a reflection of a pretty girl in shop windows. I keep wanting to check her put, but then I remember it's me.

"Hey, there she is again!"

Lucky girl! I had mine done about 12 years ago, but my right one keeps closing up. I've had it redone a couple of times, but it just keeps happening. I'm talking to my doctor about it when I see him in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, I can't just wear one earring!

Yesterday I was out for lunch with my wife, and the waitress came to the table and said "Hello Ladies", I really can't tell you how amazing that made me feel! And then this morning I was leaving a building and a gentleman held the door open for me as we were both leaving, I said thank you and he replied your welcome ma'am. Literally my first 2 experiences being properly gendered in public. Little things, but huge things to me.

That is awesome!  I have been out for a year, and I still love being addressed as "ladies" (with my wife) or "ma'am".  It never gets old.

Why? It's very fashionable now to have one chandelier and nothing at all in the other. I do sometimes but I prefer one long earring and one gold stud on the opposite side. Or none at all and no jewellery either. It's a real pleasure to go without tbh.

I came to say I was made happy today by freshly laundered sheets. A sprinkling of lavender oil and they'll be ready for a good nights sleep.

I remember the first time that happened to me in public.  It is absolutely wonderful!  And it's a sign of things to come!

@ SiobhanF:
  Hang in there and be determined and resolute with your transition desires.
Waiting can be the very toughest part of transitioning... and be advised, once your finally start your HRT then the waiting even becomes more difficult to deal with.
As I always tell everyone here regarding HRT, "Patience is required, usually nothing happens very quickly with HRT"  ....  and it can be a slow and dogged process.  Body changes, especially significant body changes can take time, the amount of time that it will take for your unique body to change is really up to your body.  What you read about others transition timelines and how their body (and mind) have changed most likely will not be your exact experience, so do read about and learn from what others have experienced but please understand that you will have your own unique and specific journey....   we all want quick changes and for some than might happen, human nature usually dictates "I want it all and I want it now"  .....   but NOW you must have patience!!!!

Please keep us updated regarding your HRT and transition journey and might I suggest, unless you have already done so, is for you to start your own personal and private journal that you can write down the details of what is happening with your transition journey... writing about your successes, your disappointments, your goals and your problems can be very good therapy and will later on be a reminder of the grand journey that you have undertaken.

Best wishes and well wishes to you,
Danielle

Thank you, Danielle. I appreciate your encouragement. I know the waiting game all too well. I'm in the military where everything is hurry up and wait. lol. I'll keep my eyes on the prize, which is complete and total freedom to be myself. :)

I got to volunteer for Phoenix Pride, this past Saturday, then I got in for free on Sunday because I'm active duty military. on Saturday, it was awesome interacting with so many people as a box office person. Got plenty of compliments from people of all types. Then, yesterday, I didn't get to go with anyone, so I just walked around aimlessly listening to live bands and stuff. I got some awkward glares from quite a few lesbians, but I still got a few "you're cute" from passersby. I think I may have overdone my makeup, but I wasn't trying to really impress anybody. Fun times were had and I got to see Berlin live! They still got it. :)
Be your own master, not the slave to illusion;
The lord of your own life, not the servant to falsities;
Only then will you realize your true potential and shake off the burdens of your fears and doubts.

Another hour of electrolysis passed!  The results are becoming obvious and we covered a lot of ground this session!  Also, insurance approved most laser sessions, so going to utilize them to start clearing "down there" as I begin the prep for SRS :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful evening!
