Pre-GRS extreme activities

Regarding MTF GRS,  are there any activities (ie bungee jumping, skydiving etc..) that can NEVER be done post GRS?

I'm curious if there is anything I should consider doing before I might be unable?

But, seriously, there is not a single thing I can think of that I cannot do because I have a vagina now.  Nothing.

Peeing standing up is near to impossible now. So going to area with no washrooms (or gross ones) nearby is really my new pet peeve.

Thinking like an engineer, as per my boss.

I want to go skydiving for my birthday. A friend at work offered to go with me. She had gone skydiving twice. Bungee jumping I do not think I would do that but would love to. I do not think there is anything I could not do post-op that I could do pre-op, except stand to pee.

Yes, clean toilets is a must. Where I work is very good. In 1.3 years I have been using the multiple toilet woman's rooms I only had one issue with a toilet that had some blood on it. I walked in then walked out. Then a woman I know walked in thinking it was me I guess and said she would call ENV for cleaning. She had a pissed face on ( I have been asked by woman if I get a period now, go figure) and I later figured out that she may have been directing her aggression at me. I always look for pee and on rare occasion have had to clean off the lid.

Hi Megan,

The thought of skydiving or bungee jumping with all the force being taken in the crotch by the harness strap has my very tender new tissue terrified!

Actually the changes in interests being post hrt are more significant than post GCS for me. I have lost the urge for speed or the wildness that used to be part of my life and that would have ruled out the skydiving or bungee jumping by itself......maybe this is just the result of getting older. Who knows.

I find I am less inclined to do risky stuff now because I like my life a lot more than I used to. GCS does increase your degree of difficulty level in the Olympic 'writing your name in the snow' competition.

Well yes.
Playing the piano.

I'm not terribly musical but I can blast a mean C chord on a guitar if someone tunes it for me and the amp is loud.

However, I've always wanted to play the piano, well not always.

I blame my parents for forcing me into piano lessons but I wouldn't try, probably in order to get back at them.
I was a loveable child; I'm so glad I wasn't mine.

Post GRS I took piano lessons. After all I had the time and all I had to do was sit and play my life's music; after all I was in touch with myself - in more ways than one.

I think it was the second lesson when I was told to stop playing the fool. The third to stop playing the idiot. During the fourth I was just told just to stop.


"Why do you plague me, you talentless bitch?!" screamed my red-faced maestro.

Calmly I said that I had explained when I signed up for lessons that I was post GRS and wanted to learn the piano.

"I don't care what Graduate Research School you went to. You are tone deaf and musically illiterate.  Where did you do GRS and what were the results?"

'Well my testicles are in a jar of formalin on my desk and the results are in my knickers and privileged viewing' I said, slightly offended in how the conversation was going.

The ambulance came soon after and I think he will be ok, he just looked very pale.


So yes dear Megan, there are things you cannot do post GRS.

Many refer to it as GCS  so as not to accidentally get enrolled in the talent sucking Graduate Research School that Cindy went to. 

As an aside, when I type GCS in my phone, it gets auto corrected to GOD.

Megan, rock climbing (technically pulling on plastic at my local rock gym), was my first post-op exercise activity beyond walking. I would have preferred to get into a pool for some swimming but Heidi nixed that until 3.5 months due to a suture that was slow to heal due to some popped stitches.

I was on the bike soon after and by 7 months riding was no more uncomfortable than it was pre-op (I don't miss the numb <shenis> problems I used to experience and at least on short rides I find riding can actually be kinda stimulating).

  Have you ever ridden your bicycle and hit a bump which caused you to land on your bycycle's bar in that vulnerable spot? I am seriously wondering how different it is doing that post GCS. Maybe you could do a comparison for us. Well, you did say extreme activities right? Before my  GCS, I had a student surprise me with a kick in the groin. What do you say in baseball, he got good wood on that kick. I'm not ready to go for a comparison though.

As a young whippersnapper I did have an unfortunate and very painful cycling incident that resulted in substantial swelling a visit to the doctor and an ice pack!
No, I'm not prepared to voluntarily attempt this again,  there are extreme sports and then there's masochism!
