Robert Burns, the poet?
According to my sister, he's an ancestor on the maternal side.  He may be - definitely got around!
My wife is part scot and I have some too. We belong to a Scottish society and we go to functions like the burns dinner. I'm doing a kilted run this Friday for the American Cancer Society. I'm thinking of wearing the kilt to work.

Genealogy on my mother's side has always been pretty much skiddish.  On my father's side, it was believed to be german.  Then out of the blue I received a message from a woman who had traced my dad's mom back to english ancestors.  Mom's side, some native American.  Illionian, etc.

My dad was first gen Italian here, both parents were from the Naples area, but his father's mother was light and had red hair. My mom's maiden name traces to German ancestry, but after he got here, mostly UK married into the line and a little French early on. So I am Italian, English, Irish, French German, Scottish and Welsh. I look like an anglo version of my dad 9" taller.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Duck liver pate.

Don't think I'd be a fan either.  Cannot stand beef liver.  Chicken livers I think I mentioned before with water chestnuts and wrapped in bacon are awesome though.

I never cared for liver meat, with or without onions or bacon, or mayo, or water chestnuts, cashews, or other nuts, or rocky mountian oysters.  No bull!  Ha!

I felt the same way about all livers until I ate the Ramaki and found out chicken livers are better.

I hated liver as a kid, it was one of the worst school dinners, a grey lump full of veins in watery gravy. I remember a kid on the next table throwing his voice exorcist style after being made to eat it

LMAO.  I don't recall ever having to eat liver in school but years ago I was invited over a girl who I was dating's house.  Her parents had asked her to ask me if I had any particular food I liked and I said no, anything would okay.

The mother had made Liver & Onions.  God only knows how some people can eat it.  I hear it's good for you but I just can't stand the taste.  I did my best to eat the meal but I guess I wasn't a very good actor as they told me I didn't like it.

Hi Jailyn, Did you know tomatoes have a substance in them called Lycopene, which is really good for you, anti-oxidant, cancer preventative and really good for your skin.  Higher levels are found in tomato juice and sauces etc. Google it and you'll see.  Have I convinced you slightly?? lol

Sonja.

I can't say you convinced me at all, lol!!!! Now does this lycopene cause me to become a lycan then I might be down for them, hehhehehehe!!! Although I do eat processed tomato products.

I make liver often. The key to getting rid of that strong liver taste is to soak the liver in milk for a couple of hours before cooking it. And also don't drown it in that nasty cream of mushroom soup. Its also much better if you caramelize the onions instead of just frying them.

I have. They were chewy but actually tasted good. After sucking on so many balls it was weird to actually chew them. Lol

Lamb fries (lambs balls) are eaten by the savages of Yorkshire. You can see them in butchers shops in the badlands along with brains & all sorts of other revolting stuff

No I have not.  But, an alligator in a vest would be called an investigator.

"Tastes Like Chicken!".

Actually  I have on a number of occasions.  When I was still in Texas there was a family restraurant in Baytown or Deer Park called "Kountry Comfort".  They serve a few exotic foods; Elk, Moose, Bear, Alligator.  My son, grandkids and I would go there.  My youngest grandson who's five loved the alligator.  I video taped him one time eating it and the expression on his face was to kill for but then it go back to the 5 year old face and take another bite.
