Leaving old patches on while applying new ones

I read that Estradiol patches give off hormones until 2 weeks after application.
I'm leaving old patches on to spike my Estradiol levels.
I need to change my patches every three days so basically I always wear 4 patches at any given time.
After all, old patches are old patches, it isn't an increase in dose since it are old patches.

I have 24 patches for 72 days and I never request a new supply before it's time so I don't see how my doctor could have anything against me taking advantage of my old patches.

Anyway : what I wanted to ask :

Is there a good way to keep them from falling off and getting dirty in those 2 weeks?
I wear tegaderm but the corners still get dirty after a few days. How can I prevent this?

Will it damage my skin if I wear my patches for longer than they were intended?

Why are you asking us and not your doctor?

Because it's not a medical question.
It's an aesthetic question.

Ah. My apologies.

Nonetheless, me, I think I'd still check. Couldn't hurt.

No clue to be honest.  I change out patches every week.  The left hip on Wednesdays and the right hip on Saturdays. I use tegaderms as well to cover them if they start coming off.  Other than that my hips and butt isn't big enough for four patches at a time. Granted the patches I'm on are pretty big, like 2x2 inches.

I think it is a medical question. The instructions clearly say to replace the patch, not add a new one. The instructions also clearly say to notify your doctor about any other medications that you're taking. Such as extra estradiol to "spike my estradiol levels".

To your actual question, I don't know. Battling the lint ring where the old patch sat was an ongoing thing for me.

Hugs, Devlyn

Is like keeping the stick after you have finished the lollipop.

Not really, they give off estrogen until two weeks after application.
So by wearing 3 older and 1 new patch I calculated that I get 1X + 1/2X the amount of prescribed estrogen. BOGOF. Kind of a good deal. More estrogen for the same price.

I am using Estradiol (Climara) patch, and replace them by seven days. I'm lucky so far with apply on my butt. Are I am okay to put on my thigh?

Ask your doctor.

Every patch prescription includes printed directions on exactly how and where to apply, and when to remove.

If patches are left in place too many additional days the smell is horrible as moisture is trapped.  Eewww.
