I also wished I was 20 years younger and lived in Alaska, and didn't have wife...er...did I say that out loud?

@ KarenElizabeth: You are right about Alaska ... most towns, especially the very small town that I am in may possibly not be the most welcoming place for transgenders. Fortunately I pass 100% and it has not become and issue... yet. Everyone here only knows me as a middle age woman but I am certain that the day will come, perhaps sooner instead of later, that I will be the talk of the small town gossip groups.... if it happens, it happens, and I will deal with it.

I lived there too from 1987 to 1991 in Anchorage. I really liked it. I got to spend a little time in Nome which I thought was kind of like stepping back 100 years through a time machine.

@ Deborah: Oh yes, for sure.... stepping back in time. Nome is about twice the size of the little out of the way little town I now live in. It's full of hunters, outdoors men, etc... and probably not the most trans-friendly place to live.... but I relocated here as a female 17 months ago, living full time, started my own small business, and I have developed lots of friends, business clients and a group of cis girlfriends that I go exercising with... at this time, there is no one that knows me other than as a woman... but the day may be coming that I will have to reveal my past and I will be most likely be the talk of the town... just hoping it won't adversely affect my business and my close friends (male & female) that I have made in this 17 months. I am not looking forward to that but when it comes I will deal with it.
