As a trans girl who recently got SRS, I hope I'm not intruding and I really don't know much my perspective will be valuable here but I concur with Julia that being a nice guy is much importante than having a huge dick. I know you all guys want to be comfortable in your skin and it's not just to please women, I know, especially since many may not be into women at all, but if it is, just be warned. Most women would prefer a guy who knows how to work it than one who'll just shove it in there and skip any kind of foreplay and sexual build-up. That's very importante for most girls, myself included. Don't feel like you can never measure up because you can. Just my 2ยง.

Love,

Of course you wouldn't know that from all the transwomen gnashing their teeth in the various  "Dear God, what if I don't get maximum depth?" topics.

Ah, and I live in absolute abstinence (only partly by choice), so it doesn't matter much.
So do I, I have never considered using that stuff that's currently still on my body and the mere thought grosses and always grossed me out beyond believe.
I have never met another transguy who also lives in complete abstinence before.

And even though I am not planning on staying abstinent any longer after phalloplasty that question isn't what concerns me when it's about choosing my dick size. And women are out of the picture anyway because I am not attracted to them at all.
What concerns me much more when it comes to sex is my inexperience. I mean I am in my mid-twenties, will probably be in my late-twenties already when phalloplasty is completed and am a gay total top without any experience and I am asking myself what guy my age or older would even be up to being with an inexperienced top.

Cultural differences play a huge part in this. For example i myself, would probably not give any credence to Greek mythology or anything. It's not a myth that men of color, particularly men of African descent, are a bit larger. So for me 7 inches is normal. Also I am 5'8.

Just for clarification as there might have been a misconception here!
I am not giving it any credibility or credence and I am not taking it serious either. I certainly don't believe that one can determine a man's personality based on his dick size because that would be ridiculous. I am basing nothing off of that but was just talking about those ancient Greek standards as I find it interesting and a tad funny in comparison to the 'the bigger - the better - the manlier' perception of today's Western societies that's on the same level and not less ridiculous than the ancient Greek one in my opinion.
I am also not from the antiquity and I am not Greek :P So it's not my culture even though ancient Greece had a strong influence on Europe.

I'm Germanic, I am 6ft and for me 15 cm would be average and fitting my height which is also average for men of my ethnicity ;)
7 inches are approximated 18 cm? Is that correct?
[My height is basically the only thing I know in ft because I had to convert it a lot in online conversations already ;D]

I thought the general consensus was that black men - let's not use all MoC here because we know that many of the stereotypes for other men aren't so flattering - and white men were more or less the same when erect, and that the major difference was flaccid length?

I don't pack at the moment, and I'm leaning toward not having lower surgery.  Everybody's junk grosses me out, so I'm not actually in a hurry to trade one messy, problematic thing for another.  For me, the only advantage to looking as cis as possible down there is to gain access to the privileges of cisness.  Assuming I passed, I could see myself packing if I wanted to go to a public beach or men's locker room or somewhere like that.  After all, not fully looking the part can get you shunned, beaten up, or killed.

If I had phallo I'd probably just want to be average/proportional, which might mean I'd be a little small, given that I'm 5'4".  As for choosing a packer, I might go with a smaller one since I hear many of the larger models fold funny in your pants, and make you look like you have a constant boner.  I really don't want to walk around looking like I'm perving out at random things.

I ended up deciding to wait and find out what others would say before I respond, I hope you all don't mind.  I suppose you could all consider this part of my phallo research.

CMD042414, seems like we're on a similar wavelength.  Like I mentioned in my original post, I don't understand why someone would want a small dick should they get a phallo.

I can understand wanting a phallo that fits one's body size, but why not go a little longer if you can?  A 7"/18cm cock isn't too much more than a 6"/15cm one, and for my mental well-being, that extra length would make me a very happy man.

I AM seriously considering a meta in the future, but IF I decide to go all the way and get a phallo, I want it to be a decent length.  I have no problems being semi-erect all the time, as long as its the length I want.  But, I also want to be a normal girth.  If its too big around in girth for my partner to enjoy, then there goes a decent part of why I'd even want a phallo in the first place.  No pop-can girth for me, nothankyouverymuch!

Nice fitting clothes is also something I will have to take into consideration.  I tend to wear skinny jeans, and my 4.5" packer gives me a decent bulge.  If I have to have a cock that will remain the same size limp or erect, I will err on the side of slightly longer than average, even if its only an inch/2.5cm longer than normal.  I definitely don't want a baseball bat in my pants, but I also don't want something that is so small that I'd need a magnifying glass to find it.  ;)

If I have to tuck or whatever longer guys do to fit into tight pants, then I suppose I'll just have to learn what it is they do.

I'm not vain, I just want to be a respectable size, both for my mental well-being, and to be able to please my partner as well.  At 5'7&1/3rd "/171cm, I feel that 7"/18cm would be a nice size for someone of my height and build.

I have both a 6"/15cm strap-on and a 8"/20.5cm one, and the 6 inch one seems to be too short for me when I look into my full-length mirror, while the 8 inch one is too long.  So it seems to me that my Goldilocks zone is 7 inches.

I also DO know how to please my partner, so having a cock that I'm not only proud of, but know how to use along with foreplay and even afterplay would just enhance our fun.

And no, I'm also not into women.  My partner is a genderfluid transman.  A nice length and dick of a normal girth would only enhance our sex life.

Everyone's responses has definitely given me plenty to think about.

to the recurring question of "if you can, why not?", the answer for me is more of a "why should I?"  so many guys who are average and even above average in size are under the false impression that they're smaller than normal thanks to pressure and insecurities pushed on them by peers, media, society, etc.  I am all for letting this unhealthy misconception die.  please don't take this to mean I'm putting down anyone who is or wants a bigger size!  if you find what's comfortable for you and suits you and your needs, then that is perfect.  it's just a matter of taste.  I feel no pressure to be any bigger than I "should" be, not that I take any issue with that, just that I lack any reason to go beyond what I feel like I would have if I were naturally average.  a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it, i guess you could say.

I see what you mean.  Not everyone feels the need to be "huge," and there's nothing wrong with that.

OTOH, I personally would feel better about myself if I was "a bit on the larger side of average" should I ever choose to get a phallo.  For me, its a question of what I feel I should have in order to be comfortable with myself.

Adding my two cents here for what it's worth...

I have one packer, 4.5" and I really like it for packing. It's a bit on the large side compared to a cis flaccid penis but it's realistic (by Reelmagik) and I like the weight/sensation of it there. Makes me feel good.

I'm most caught up in the sensation and aesthetics of a prospective penis. I'd like to be able to top. I'd like it to look good. Some of the phallo results I've seen are really girthy and that doesn't work for me, along with the big flap of skin that's needed. The meta results look good but obvs, smaller and no penetration happening there.

More than anything, I want a penis to feel part of me, to have full sensation. I wish I could ejaculate but I don't think that's possible? I haven't done too much research into bottom surgery at this point.

In the meantime, I have my packer and I've also just ordered the Rod from Transthetics, which is about 3" and right for a flaccid cis penis. I'd like something to play with that's at least 6", but haven't done yet. Soon.

Hope my rambles help, Ryuichi. :)

Your two cents worth is definitely worth it, Hughie!  Its cool to know that I'm not the only man that wants to be on the larger size of penis-ness.  :)  Its great to hear once again that I'm not the only man that feels this way.

Again, thanks to everyone that's responded. ;D

I love how it looks when I walk around with my 4.5 inch packer, and so does my partner.  We switch when it comes to sex, and I want to be able to penetrate someday.  Can't do that with a meta, and I would just feel inadequate if I had something that didn't let me feel like a man.  Sure, dick size is irrelevant when it comes to how a man feels, but I want what I want.  I don't want a girthy dick, just a extra inch.

I'd like to get a Rod, especially since I want a meta, but right now I'd rather have a Joystick, especially since they're 7" long.  I want to see how 7" feels when its "attached" to my body, even if its via a pair of tight underwear or a harness.

Maybe I'll start packing with my 8" strap-on, just to get a feel for what its like.

Thanks for your thoughts, Hughie!

I have a 2" snubnose, or what use to be called a detective special that shoots both .38 and .357mags.  Also a 4" 9mm.  Pain in the butt to carry them anymore - getting too hold for it.

But thanks for your...interesting...post.

I have not come very far in my decisions. One day I want meta, another day I want phallo. But the phallos I've seen, are not 100%. They look not natural. But maybe the surgery techniques advance until it's my turn to decide what I want.

If the phallo would look good and work good enogh I'd go for 5". I'm short. It'd look stupid having a dick reaching my knee caps. :,D

First of all I don't bother with a packer. It would look especially strange right now seeing as I haven't been on T yet and don't pass as male.

Perhaps if you dress male, bind and develop male mannerisms, you might pass.  When I was pre-T, I used to say "I'm a guy, I just have a high voice," but that's me.  Not everyone has that kind of self -confidence.  If I had a packer when I was pre-T, I definitely would have used it, especially since I was already binding.

I tried on my two strap-ons again, and there's definitely a difference in girth as well as length in the two.  I first put on the 6" one, and it seemed too thin as well as too short for a guy of my size.

I don't know if you can tell by my icon pic, but I'm a bit  on the stocky side.  Not really fat, but after years of "carrying people for a living," (Paramedic joke!), I have developed broad shoulders, a broad chest and muscular arms and legs, something I've retained even though I've been disabled since 2010.

I measured the 6" strap-on, and at 12.5cm at the base, it seemed too skinny for a stocky guy like myself.  The 8" strap-on, OTOH, at 15.5cm at the base seemed too thick/fat.  So maybe my Goldilocks zone is 14cm.  Idunno.

Either way, I took notes on these new discoveries.  This is definitely something I would talk to a phallo surgeon about in the future, should I decide that I want one.

Honestly, I'm really leaning towards getting a phallo.  I REALLY want to be able to penetrate my partner with something that's ME, and not just a prothesis.

That's the kicker for me for function, being able to penetrate with my actual body and not a prosthetic. That would be the dream scenario. I want to try a Bono too but it's definitely not part of my body so mentally that may be a hard shift. We'll see.
