Hi! New to this site

Hi all,

I'm new to this site, and am a human who is just trying to navigate their way about figuring out their gender identity. Though I'm not "out" by this name at all among friends, family, and colleagues, call me Caden. Right now I use they/them pronouns, and am AFAB who right now identifies somewhere on the non-binary, gender fluid, genderqueer spectrum but presents more androgynously/masculine.

My friend, who is also going through a similar process, described it like riding a wave. You're fine until you tumble down, figure out some stuff, make your way to the top, and surf again until you crash into another wave. That's how I'm kind of feeling right now. In the middle of this crashing wave but taking it all in and taking some time to figure it out, and learning a lot about myself along the way.

I'd love to get to virtually know you all, and find some friends who are also figuring this all out. Happy to be here and wanted to drop in and say hi!

WELCOME to Susan's Place.  You will find this a safe and friendly place to share with others about your transition and to read about others transition and their trials, tribulations, and successes in their transition journey. 
It is nice that you have signed up so you can share with others and involve yourself with some give and take with other members.

Hi Caden 🙋‍♀️ I also identify as gender fluid, non binary and feel most humans humans are trying to navigate that identity.  Of course it's my own theory that there is no set definition on how women or men see themselves.  I've always had a feminine personality, but had male genitalia.  I never really thought much of how I didn't relate to so much of the male world.  It just was and I lived my life that way.  After recognizing who I am after so many years , I'm now able to be more like who I am.  Which can't be defined by typical societal norms because of the many variables.
The terms non-binary and gender fluid are very broad and almost generalized due to its large spectrum of realities. Society is what puts labels on things and humans are so unique from each other that there has to be some leeway.

I'm looking forward to seeing your growth as you watch ours!

Thank you! That's so refreshing to hear. Glad to be joining this online community! I work with LGBTQ youth who have just such an inherently different view of gender and sexuality that even I, as a 25 year old, grew up with. I always love listening to what they have to say.
