I'm strongly considering it.

I have no desire for penetrative sex with men *or* women. I'm not into men and don't buy that this'll change for me. Nor do I buy that I'll feel any less valid or legitimate in my identity without a vaginal canal.

Those are the main reasons I've seen around the web for caution when this topic comes up. Am I forgetting anything?

This is sometimes called cosmetic GCS or simply just a penectomy. There are a few reasons to consider this option.
It is a cheaper more simpler surgery and a viable option for some one who has medical reasons for being denied full GCS, such as having a  heart condition.

Most people tend to stay away from this procedure, because we never know what is going to happen in the future. You may develop a relationship with someone where intercourse would be desirable.

I recommend read the thread It's Tia Anne's Turn

I had GCS with the same surgeon 4 months after Tia Anne's procedure, standard GCS in my case.  Full-depth is exactly what I wanted, but I can definitely say dilation isn't easy - especially at first.  In a way, dilation is an additional medical procedure since you are messing with a recent surgical site.  If you have no anticipated need for full-depth, the non-cavity procedure is a nice option.
Assigned male at birth 1963.  Decided I wanted to be a girl in 1971.  Laser 2014-16, electrolysis 2015-17, HRT 7/2017, GCS 1/2018, VFS 3/2018, FFS 5/2018, Labiaplasty & BA 7/2018.

There are some with birth defects that don't have a "cavity" and some may lose it due to cancer etc., but beyond that, why would they???
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

It was just a question ::). I doubt if many would but we do have asexuals out here

The pretty kitty without the dilation sure is an interesting option.  :)

I've given it a lot of thought just for that reason.

Haven't really done any research on GCS yet, but is there a mid-size option?  I have no intention of ever letting any man parts any where near there so there is no need for full depth.  Having no depth at all seems to be not quite right for me.

A more correct description would be shallow vagina. In order to give the proper appearance, there has to be a depression but it doesn't go very deep and it doesn't require dilation. Depth is probably between an inch or two and it's definitely not intended for sex.
