Just out of curiosity , I was wondering how many of us on here are in the uk ? If so where abouts ?

Me myself I'm in Walsall in the West Midlands :-)

Originally from a town on east coast of Lincolnshire, lived in Sheffield for a spell then moved to Japan. Moving back to the UK soon though, not sure where to!

Katie , your not really far. Plus you have a trans centre near you , which is a bonus :-)

7th Jan 18 - Came out to wife
31st Jan 18 - Referred to GIC / might be seen in 2020
Oct 18 - Fully out at one job, part out at another
Nov 18 - Out to close family

Battling with the GP but he's suggested Nottingham although not referred yet.
Came out to self: mid Oct 17                   Last haircut: 3rd Nov 17

I've had the phone conversation with my gp and Ive got appointment tonight , for referral. Fingers crossed :-) x

Good luck!  Be honest with them and push for a referral even if they are a little reluctant.  I wish I had been more assertive as I'm still not referred and my initial GP appointment was 9th January! x

Well, a more progressive and less costly method for transitioning is pretty high up there (I'm pre-everything at the moment) for coming back to the UK. Laws and society in Japan in regards to transgender are nowhere near what they are in the UK. Plus NHS. Say what you want about its current state, but it has helped me and my family so much over the years I dread to think what would have happened with a private/insurance based health care system.

Except when they talked me out of transitioning. That was a bummer.
