I went to my electrologist yesterday. Nanci does hair removal on many of Dr. Metzler's patients. But, she said there are two other GRS surgeons in AZ and their schedules are considerably lighter. Loren S. Schechter, M.D. and Dr. Ellie Zara Ley.  Nanci says her clients are telling her that surgery can be scheduled with Dr Schechter, and Dr. Ley with only a two month waiting period.

Dr Ley is in Dr Meltzer's office and trained under him. I have met her several times and am impressed by her however I haven't seen her work yet. At some point in the future I suspect that Dr Ley will take over Dr Meltzer's practice but I don't know when.

Dena - Nanci said that Dr. Metzler was planning on retiring soon.  Dr. Metzler does appx. 200 surgeries a year. And with Dr. Bowers out of action, they are viable alternatives.

Meltzer is worth the wait, however DR. Ley is good and is in the same office and Meltzer still helps out Ley when needed including rounds at the hospital. Also you want to make sure you had enough time to get electro done on that area. Hugs

I'm pretty sure that Dr. Ley is who @Kendra went with, and she seems very happy so far.

Each of us that has experienced GCS only gets it done once and can only attest to their experience. I just hit my six month post op anniversary after surgery last September with Dr. Ley. I had consulted with both Dr's. Meltzer and Ley and chose Dr. Ley, partially because of her schedule availability but more because she is a woman and has experienced what we are going through. While I like Dr. Meltzer and was impressed with him personally as well as his experience and skills, I am very glad that I chose Dr. Ley and am quite pleased with the outcome. The woman is very experienced, knowledgeable and skilled.
