@ mako:
Gotta get rid of that nasty T in your system.   Things will start happening for you in a little more significant way when the T level is where it should be.... very LOW.

Yep, a dull ache and itching in your boob area is what happened to me along with almost alway erect nipples that would stick out of my shirts while I was still trying to present as a male early in my transition...  extra layers of shirts in the summer time was not a good experience!!!    Ahhh, the price of beauty!
By the way, I love your Avatar/Profile picture.

I don't take that but it happened to me when adding progesterone. My spiro dose was upped for the time ever after 6 months but I've yet to notice lower T effecting my breasts. It's a mental relief to know that my T is being nuked!! I'm not at max dose yet but honestly this dosage increase was for good measures if anything else.
Estrogen increase hasn't effect my nipples much each either yet..

I've been on it for a year, for BPH.  It appears to be helping my breasts grow, as I mentioned in other threads.  Apparently, gynecomastia is one of it's benefits.   ;)
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

@AnneK:   YES indeed, many middle age and older men have prostate problems and BPH and T blockers are very frequently prescribed by physicians for that malady.

As you pointed out, the side effect of male breast growth is a welcomed side-effect for MTF transitioners, it gives a good head start to things.

According to medical literature the rate of gynecomastia is 1 or 2 % for Finasteride, which I was taking and I developed significant breasts with just the Finasteride. There seems to be many more people with breast growth than 2 %, given the number of people who report breast growth on this forum. Makes me wonder about the accuracy of reported medical data.

I can't speak about Finasteride, but dutasteride is often prescribed with estrogen, for MtF.  There must be a reason for that.  Also, I wonder if they differentiate between significant growth and some.  Where would they draw the line?

Once curious thing.  When I first started wearing a bra daily, almost 2.5 years ago, my right breast was slightly larger than left.  That now appears to have reversed.
