You can share as many video game soundtracks as you want. There are no limits here! Although please do not post to many YouTube videos, as they take up a lot of space.

So I will start with my favorite.

Even if you have never liked or played Halo, you have to admit that the soundtracks are pretty great right? Right!

So, what is YOUR favorite video game soundtrack?

Rumples

The complete Turrican 2 soundtrack. Even the updated polished version.

But for old times sake:

The Great Bath

I used to keep him in the water just to listen to this.

The Final Challenge

Kapow! Glow sticks! Synths! Lazerwhips! Boss fights!
Turn to page 137:
You enter the room, Rumples slowly turns to face you, tilts her head and let's out a slight smirk. Everything you were, are, and ever will be disintegrates into absolute nothingness.
Your adventure ends here.

Dark Souls 3. All the music to it pretty much; base game and DLC.

I said it was my favorite when the game came out in 2016. It still has been my favorite today. It was just amazingly well made to really make the fights that much better. It was one of the things I loved the most about that game. I also like creeping people out sometimes when I just pop in my CD of it. People are typically like "your music scares me."
But I mean, I don't just simply enjoy the soundtrack, this is just the type of music I listen to all the time. No country, pop, or rap. Icky. This is my kind of stuff.

Never played dark souls before, but the soundtrack is great! Not game related, but I have had the experience of creeping out individuals too, as I used to listen to a ton of horror movie soundtracks when I was a teenager lol.

Thanks for sharing!

Well, most Square snes games had amazing, gorgeous soindttacks,  but Final Fantasy 6 stood out even among them. Jump to 11:35 for the best part.

Special mention for both Portals. Jonathan Coultan is the best.

If you do ever wish to get into the Souls games though, in my opinion number 3 is the best overall but also in about a month they are releasing the remastered version of the 1st one.
However, I should say that if you heard the music you may have guessed it's not your happy little fluffy unicorn game. It's really dark with very depressing lore XD
And of course it's very very difficult. You would die, a lot. But that's what's the best about the games. If you are serious about it then it provides great satisfaction to finally beat the bosses, just a lot of anger first XD

PS. I too have my library of horror music on me as well  :P

I really like the portal soundtrack in particular, but the Final Fantasy one is good too!

I decided to look up a let's play of Dark Souls 3, and it definitely looks interesting.  I guess I should start with the remaster then, as I would hate to skip over 1 and 2. Never played an rpg though, or at least I think I haven't. Anyways, yeah I will totally give the franchise a try!

You should share some of your music library on one of the music threads here! I love discovering new music from others!

Not gonna lie: I could listen to the Sims background music all day.

Also, a lot of older racing games before they started getting licensed soundtracks. Gran Turismo in particular.

It's pretty intense. But thing is, you can play it over and over and STILL not understand the story at all XD You won't be any more lost if you played number 3 before 1 or 2. Personally I always tell people to play 3 cuz I think it's the best made one. The first one is great too but it's much slower paced, the ui is less friendly to newer players, and it has lots of things like bad hit detection and lag that hopefully the remaster fixes XD
Number 2 I do like, but most fans say it sucks. Idk, it's just different. It is slower paced and probably the easiest of the 3, but has a really annoying mechanic that every time you die your max health gets reduced and you need to use humanity (which is limited) to fix that. Number 3 is better that humanity (technically called embers in this one) gives you extra health and when you die you lose that extra health, but still keep however much you leveled up. Number 1 has no health mechanic at all. But like I say, it is a really hard game that takes some getting used to.

As for music, like I said to you in a different post I know of lots of orchestras. My favorite is "Two Steps From Hell." I believe they have been used in some game trailers before. Also if you really wanna traverse the website extrememusic.com has practically any genre you could think of on it. It's an industrial stock music website. You can't buy from them unless you work in the industry but you can always listen for free.

Dark Souls is ... ummm. Maybe not a great introduction to the genre. :P It's one of the most unforgiving and difficult games out there, but if you know what you are getting into and have a high frustration tolerance, it's a true gem. 2 is definitely way easier than 1. It's a much better game co-op as well I think (but takes some work to get everything in order to play together since they don't really want you to).

Meh, I do not mind a challenge. If it gets too frustrating then I will just walk away for a day or 2 then go back to figuring out whatever part I might get stuck on. The tactic seems to work pretty well for some reason. There is also youtube videos if I really need the help.
