Good evening!

I am thinking about contacting professinals regarding gender identity for the first time. I would like to do so via Mail, because for one I am a chicken, and my town is quite small, and I want to avoid encounters with ppl I know.
Long story short: I've been sitting at my computer with a blank email for the local sexuality-consoulling-center (not specialised in gender idendity, more so sexuality as a whole, but inlcuding gender ID in their reportiore) for over an hour  now, rewritten and deleted several times and just can't find the words.

Has anybody ever written to total strangers about your struggles? How did you start to explain what you want to ask? Did you write your whole story, thoughts etc. in the first Mail? or just some basic stuff, if so, what? I am really adraid of this step- so I would be glad about advice/experiences here.

Thanks!

Just be direct, you assuming you're just trying to open a dialogue, you coul say something like.

Hello,

I believe that I may be transgender. I would like to know if there is someone there I can talk to about this, or if there are any other resources you can offer.

Thank you,

Nbj

That's all you really need to say. LGBT organizations will be very supportive, especially for people who are just starting to figure things out.

Thank you a lot for that fast and simple answer! Oftentimes the most simple things are the hardest to find :)

No worries, I've been in that position myself. It can be difficult to start telling people what, for me at least, was a secret I thought I would take to my grave.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

You could try your doctor.  You'll need them to refer you to some professionals.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

I do not have one right now, unfortunately. But I am keeping this in mind when looking for a new GP. thanks!
