I usually cut and color my own hair. Whether or not I do a good job is another question.

I use to cut my own hair but since transitioning I haven't touched it

You'd be surprised what chopping off your dead ends can do. It can really bring your hair to life.

I'm at a loss  other than pony tails

It's something you get better at the longer you do it. I have been curling my hair for about a year and keep getting better at it. Be patient if you're struggling at first. There are also tons of YouTube tutorials.

I can flat iron my hair , and thats about it .  I envy girls with easy to style hair.  I go to a blow out bar if I want something fancy.

Not even a little, this is it and it only takes 5 minutes. It takes me longer than I have strength to straiten my hair, over 45 minutes easily, my arms give out long before then. I can use barrettes or hair combs to pull it back but I rarely do anything like that because of my giant huge neck. If I use an elastic thingy to put it up in a ponytail it knots bad so I have to use a ponytail barrette, even then my muscles give out before I finish. How can my muscles be so big and so wimpy?! 😟

My face is swollen from hair removal, don't judge.

Not even a little bit. And I have no one in life to help. My hair is in a transition state ( half relaxed and half natural.) Which makes it very hard to care for. I am about to cut off the relaxed part and start wearing a wig. ....ugh :(

I can style a wig no sweat. Curly hair has a mind of its own.... different style every day with no effort.

I do just fine at it.  My braids are nothing to behold, but I think I would learn better if I did not have my wife to do it every time I wanted it.  I do no heat styling, though.  No blow dry, no irons, etc.  I have mostly straight hair, so I am naturally trying to add curls.  I usually use leave in conditioner and twist, or braid, in the evening and then take it out after it dries in the morning for curls.  I like doing the up-do.  Waves with a headband is one of my faves.  I only get my ends trimmed to get rid of the dead parts, and have grown mine out to be all the same length.  My bangs reach my chest now, so I like natural waves with volume most of the time.
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.

Nope.  I can brush it, that's about all.  I took my #1 wig to a hairdresser to have the bangs cut.  That's it in the avatar photo.  I need to bring my #2 wig in for the same.

I don't do much with my very short hair at all except I use castor and coconut oil over night maybe once a week... I usually just part it like in my photo and I may push the sides behind my ears... I wanna grow it long, hopefully past my shoulders at least

I really hated how my nose looked when I was trying to taking the profile view of my hair... ugh I know not related but that made me sad that I broke my nose...
yes I had a "Marsha" from brady bunch moment [emoji22]

I've never styled a wig. None of my current clients wear a wig. I can do almost any cut or style on other people. But doing my own hair? Forget it! It's weird, it's so easy for me to do other peoples hair but I'm awful at doing my own. Lol.

I'm pretty sure if I could spin my head around as well as my arms I would be able to do a decent job.  However, since that ain't happen'n I am at a total loss.  I do like the way my hair bounces around after shampooing and hopefully the generic rogaine along with the Fid meds will put more than fuzz on the old nogg'n.

Yeah it's not easy to do your own hair at all. But there are rare people who can. One of the guys I work with cuts his own hair. And Im not talking about just a simple buzz cut. His cut is elaborate. I would never try to cut my own hair! My dad actually cuts my hair. All I ever do is trim my ends so it's just cutting a straight line. Why do I have my dad trim my ends when I work with a bunch of hair stylists you might ask? Because the people I work with are scissor happy. Every time someone at work has trimmed my ends they have cut off 2,3 and even 4 inches of my hair! I can't stand a scissor happy stylist!!

If by styling you mean making a ponytail or french-braided hair then, sure, I'm a wiz. I should try styling mousse one of these days, however I'm having my hair cut without layers to keep braids looking their best.

I've literally been a passionate hairstyling enthusiast since I was a kid. The first thing I did when I moved away from home was to buy a bunch of Goody jumbo brush rollers and learn to set and style my hair. I've even cut my own hair many times and I own several wigs I style myself. I might have even become a hairstylist, but I didn't want to make a work thing.

I did a decent job of giving myself bangs, although I think I may have grabbed pieces of hair that should not have been cut. this is the hairstyle I wanted, and you can see me with it in a photo I shared of myself in my post history.

It took quite a while for me to master the ability to give myself a ponytail though, as for some reason it was difficult to do. Yes, that is an anime picture because I am a weeb ( not really) lol. I am very happy with the way it turned out in the end though!

There isn't really much I can do with my hair other than wash it, brush it out and put it in some kind of ponytail, usually either on the top of my head or in the back  :icon_chick:

It actually seems to style itself to some degree, some strands broke off in front and so it looks like I have bangs

Other than trimming the ends now and then I haven't had a haircut in years
