I have decided to now unlike before to not have the surgery ever. I just read how complicated it is. painful and recovery is huge. Plus if I'm on hormones, its most likely gonna cause me to not ejaculate and other things. This is a huge issue and brings my dysphoria going crazy. This is why I abstain because sexually is where dysphoria is the worst. But I read how for some the penis acts like a clit instead after hormones. If I did have any surgery it might be to have my testicles removed to remove the bulge but that wouldn't happen right away. I just changed my mind on it recently. Its also very expensive!

Sounds like you have been thinking about this a lot and have done some research. I have had surgery and found the pain minimal  and recovery easy. Like any surgery, everyone will experience it differently. There are many posts here concerning post op experiences and they reinforce the variance of recovery experience. I think it is very important to think about what outcome you would want. what would be your reasons for surgery. All surgeries not matter for what reason, do have some not so good experiences attached to them. Look at the outcomes desired and then make your decision.

As to the surgery:  Mine took just under two hours to complete. I was in hospital for two nights and then over to recovery centre for six nights. I was on just extra strength Tylenol from the second day after surgery. As for recovery, my most vivid memories are of the great people I met and the fun we had. This is not to say that the schedule in recovery can at time seem run ones life for a while, but the outcome is wonderful!

Again, please do more research, really assess your goals, and check out the other posts on this site. All the Best as you walk down your path! Hugs
