How long did you have to wait for your new social security card with your new name? I filed five weeks ago and I am still waiting. I was born in Canada and became a US Citizen quite a long time ago. As I understand it although there are plenty of us alive and well, those who were naturalized before a certain date are not in the new "improved" computer system...

My guess is that may be holding it up but I thought I would check and see if any of you had issues.

It might take a while longer. I am on medicare and in the month of April all of the medicare cards were to be reissued without a social security number. So far, I haven't received mine but my last name is in the far end of the alphabet. As medicare cards and social security cards look almost identical, I suspect they originate from the same printer and if so, it could be a few more weeks before they catch up.

Mine took about a week to come in the mail and the change was already in the databases when I went to DMV two days after I went to Social Security.

My new SS card came in about 2 weeks. Drivers license came about one week after I changed it.

Mine came about 2 weeks both times. (They misspelled my name the first time even though the paperwork was correct.)
