I am so fortunate.

I just spent two hours coming out to my ex (25 year relationship and marriage, 2 adult daughters) at a local coffeehouse.

First we had other catchup talk, and then I reviewed events from our past. Good times. Some of them explained by the totally repressed trans in my head, so repressed it didn't emerge until the last 90 days.

She works with at risk youth and so understands some of the underlying issues and feelings quite well.

She told me that she would be fully supportive in every way. We talked about my journey so far, the near term future as far as I could tell where that is going, and shopping together ❤.

I told her my new name and she loved it. We talked about how if i had come out of or even been aware of my true identity back in the day that we couldn't have handled it as thirty year olds, and how things have changed for the better since then ( still a long way to go).

We even talked about fashions and hairstyles, and she said she would help be a guide in my new world.

I love my ex. Even though she moved on after our divorce, she still cares, as do i, just in a different way.

I am blessed, and hope many of you find the same support from the person who probably knows you best ( other than yourself).

Love,

Bibi

When you finally figure out the person you want to be for the rest of your life, you want the rest of your life to start right now - what Harry would have said to Sally if he were one of us. ( but slower is better!)

I am so happy for you that your ex is so understanding and supportive.  Even though you are no longer a couple, it is so good to have the support of a true friend.

Thanks, Kathy Lauren. More good news. I told my 29 year old daughter today and she was equally supportive. How lucky.  Wish this for everyone.
