Hi all, need some confronting about this.
I ordered a size S binder from g2cb following the measurements on their site. It was too small. I sent i t back and asked a confrontation with them in order not to be wrong again. They confirmed me that the right size for me was size M. When i got it, i could only wear it for 2 hours before having issues (headache, shortness of breath). I sold it. I ordered a size L, which is definitely large (i don't have issues in putting it on, i feel it slightly large... liked it!). I told myself i would definitely prefer to have it a little larger than a little too small. I wore it today, and.... after 2 hours: headache, shortness of breath. Gosh! I took it off and coughed, now it's 1 hours since i took it off but still i am experiencing headache, and some hardness to breathe. The binder is definitely large, it's not compressing. I don't know why i experienced this. How can i do? going one size up it' s not an option since it won't bind (the L one was not perfect yet!). Will i get used to it? Or can't i bind?

thanks :)

When I first started binding I had a bad habit of changing how I would breath and posture would also change. With these combined I would get shortness of breath and some major headaches. The binder should be snug but move with you when you breath. If it continues to bother you maybe try a different company? Some binders fit certain bodies types better than others.

Thank you for replying. I felt like I was somehow "changing" my usual way to do things but I cannot say in which way. Binder is not so snug and definitely moves with me. G2cbarge size is 92-97 cm chest and my chest is 88cm (goes up to 93 when I breath very deeply). So it is pretty comfy. Maybe it has to stretch a bit being this the first time I use it?

I heard that g2cb was more comfortable and safe than other brands tho :( !

This is a weird though but is it possible that you have a latex rubber allergy? Not all of the symptoms are ones that I would normally associate with an allergy but the fact that different sizes didn't appear to make any difference so I suspect it has to be something common to all three binders.

that's a good hint! But i don't :( i don't have any rush or sort from binders or any other sport bra with latex. I guess that part of the issue is, i have a very large chest. Not my boobs, which are pretty small/average (i wear a II), but literally my ribcage. So i guess that maybe, the binder presses directly on my ribcage instead than on my boobs and causes my shortness of breath. Just hypotheses tho.

I've tried a lot of compression garments, some way too tight and some less, but never experienced what you're describing here other than a back ache in the case of it forcing you into an extra upright posture. In any case though what you mention does not sound healthy. Being short of breath can lead to serious health issues, if you're having that with every binder I wouldn't do it.

You may want to just buy some compression shirts... any sports store sells them.  Actually you can bet some great a shirt compression shirts on Groupon.
Keep in mind if you do some breathing excersises and learn to inhale from stomach u will have an easier time of it.  Actually it is the best way of breathing... check yoga breathing for a quick example and description.  Reason I say this is it sounds like you are doing a partial hyperventilation..
Have some one count your breath for a minute and also try to monitor depth.. then after binder on
Also keep in mind no matter your size u r pushing stuff in, somewhere... it will affect you.

I didn't think of this before but as just mentioned above me, breathe from the stomach also, I always breathe using the stomach naturally anyway, perhaps that is one reason I never had this problem because it means you aren't trying to expand your shoulders and ribcage.

thank You! unfortunately i tried a lot of them, but it looks like every compression garment from main brands (under armor, nike, adidas) is too big to do the job. And i don't think i am comfortable in begins something without trying it on first :(

I experienced similar with my first binder but also a numb tingling sensation in my left arm.  I went up a size but got the same thing.  I switched brands and have no problems now.  Funny thing is that I switched from underworks to GC2B.

The fit is more different because of the fabric used. The underworks has a rough nylon weave texture all over, whilst the GC2B is more of a spandex swimsuit material with a piece of cotton in the front.
The neckline of the GC2B runs a bit higher and is a bit V-neck shaped. The underworks neckline runs lower and is round shaped. The armpits holes are quite low on both companies.
