How do you guys deal with the depression brought on by the constant monitoring and scrutiny by everyone who seems to have a guilty fascination with transgendered people?

To what extent do you guys take responsibility for the ideas you have, things you say and write, given the world (age of technology) we live in?

I think I want to cry...

The approach I normally use is in my private life, my transgender history remains private. The only place I discuss that aspect of my life is here on the forum or when I want to get involved in a political argument elsewhere. When I am involved in a discussion elsewhere, it's about some other facet of me. I have enough other things to talk about to engage in most any discussion without talking about my transgender past.

Hello Anastasia
I'm certainly not the most qualified member here to answer your first question because I'm barely out myself but I would have to say Keep Your Head Held High with a big smile on it knowing who you really are inside and let that provide a kind of confidence that'll get you through and who cares what they all think it's their problem not yours they wouldn't be looking that way at someone in a wheelchair or crutches or something would they. But as we both know Society is slow to catch up. I personaly live in a tiny little town where I just try to make friends with everyone but I know that wouldn't work in an urban environment.
But sometimes you just have to play your hand as best you can in that situation of uncertainty. Once you're happy with yourself,
I believe a little of that shows through and will make you feel more comfortable.

Please no reason to cry your second questions valid I of course can only answer for myself but I take total responsibility for the stuff I write as I'm sure most of the members here would. I really do live the life I write  about here and it's not fake, my gosh I wouldn't write all this stuff looking as I do if there was not an underlying deep down powerful force providing my motivation.

As far as I know no one's got a crystal ball here but rest assured this place is for Real and you will get honest real opinions from a group of really nice people that would enjoy interacting with you.
And I guarantee your depression previously mentioned will be lessened by understanding your situation and discussing it with ones of your own kind.
You'll just have to dive in for a while and see for yourself.

Best wishes for your future, it's already going pretty good as you have a place here
       Most sincerely love Tatiana

Hello Anastasia

I do sympathise. The monitoring and scrutiny is usually not with innocent intent and sometimes extends to mocking and disapproval.

The upside is that if not confrontational, we have the opportunity to educate these people with kind words which just may be heeded. Education is important but it takes an awful long time and sadly some of the "opposition" will never change their views.

Hugs

Pamela
