I was Jordan Peterson's strongest supporter. Now I think he's dangerous

Several years ago, Jordan Peterson told me he wanted to buy a church. This was long before he became known as "the most influential public intellectual in the Western world," as he was described in the pages of the New York Times a few months ago. It was before he was fancied to be a truth-telling sage who inspired legions, and the author of one of the bestselling books in the world this year. He was just my colleague and friend.....

I have a real hard time associating truth and religion.  They're incompatible.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

My 'faith' in Christ Jesus has nothing to do with 'religion' whatsoever.

Some might cry 'semantics', however, there is a gulf of difference between the two.

My 2c, for what it may or may not be worth.

Never  heard of you son! Who are you? Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find he likes to wear slingbacks & stockings, quite a few of the most vociferous haters often do!

This article isn't about religion, it's about a university professor regretting hiring Jordan Peterson.  Professor Peterson if you haven't heard has become famous for suggesting his rights are being taken away because the Canadian government added adding "gender identity or expression" to Canadian Human Rights Act.

Peterson is a nasty piece of work in many ways.  He's a fascist and a misogynist but he started by using transgender people as scapegoats for most of the problems of modern society.

As is often the case, people like that use perceived problems to justify attacking the rights of others, claiming they're protecting their own.  There was an article in National Geographic magazine, a few months ago, that showed how some use it to justify mass murder.

Exactly!  Show me someone who stirs up hatred against another group and I'll show you that same person painting themselves as the "victim."

Sorry the link is not working, but to see the controversy search on YouTube for "Jordan Peterson threatens everything we value in NZ", and "Jordan Peterson Cath Newman".

I have seen some of the confrontation videos on youtube. I think that the people who do this are complete nutcases. If you can't win an argument shouting someone down doesn't make one the winner in the debate. I still think the guy is fascinating and frankly entitled to his own opinion. Besides I don't measure my own existence in this world on what other people think about me.

Hi Zumbagirl,

Don't get me wrong about JP.  I'm with you, very much.  It's just that it cannot be spoken openly of, without being judged.  People that have only heard one side, prior to making up their mind should check out the clips I mentioned to at least consider the other side, before pulling out their knives.
Have you seen the JP and Cathy Newman interview?  That is the height of attempted character assination and thoughtful rebuff.
My Trans goddess, Theron Meyer spoke with him without controversy several times, while giving me visual lessons on the best feminine mannerisms. I can't watch her for more than 2 minutes without getting a crush.  As I recall JP went to her wedding.
