So I had been on HRT for 13 months and was a B cup but still very cone shaped prior to having SRS. I decided to do a lot of cardio to get in shape before my surgery and in the two months I was jogging lost almost all my breast tissue. Since finishing my surgery and going back on HRT I am now back to a B cup like I was before I started jogging prior to my surgery. However I feel like my breast development has stalled my breast are not tender anymore and are still very cone shaped. If anyone has encountered something similar I would love to hear from you.

I've been on HRT for 15 months, no T blockers, orchi in April 2018.  Mine are still v small, barely 'A' cup and are cone shaped with pointy nipples. I think in my case the reason is at least partly genetic as all the female relatives that I can remember are relatively small. I've spoken to several tgirl friends who said the effects of HRT are very variable, one girl I know said it took 2 - 3 years to develop up to a 'C' cup and lose the cone shape.

Scarlet...I'm confused, can you expand what you mean by losing all of it while jogging? So like you were trying to burn belly fat or something, but your breast tissue went instead???

Breasts are made of fat and glandular tissue.

When you diet or exercise to lose weight, you burn fat off your body without regard to where the fat is on your body. Healthy women need about 18 to 20% body fat to look and feel right. If you have less than 20% body fat, you do not have enough fat to present a shapely female figure.

The amount of glandular tissue anyone has is determined by genetics and the boob fairy. Good luck with those.  ;)

This is a pretty divided subject even among medical professionals, but I'm going to throw it out any way.

Progesterone makes all the difference in the world as far as shape and roundness goes, my OBGYN argues progesterone isn't necessary in the formation of breast tissue and points to CIS woman who have low progesterone levels and still have breast development.

The weakness in the argument is that CIS woman have natural levels that fluctuate during their cycle, meaning that their average is most likely going to be higher than our average, not to mention progesterone has been shown to act as a buffer against the negative effects of high estrogen levels; if you are injecting your levels are going to spike.

Personally, I see a difference in the development of my breasts shape and fullness when I use progesterone. It's cheaper for me to do a bio identical progesterone cream than it is to get a script through my OBGYN and run it through insurance, not to mention I can side step the entire you don't really need this but I'm going to humor you attitude.
Of all the things you can be, being yourself is the most important.

I was trying to lose weight my calorie intake for that period of time was around 800 a day while jogging about 3.5 Miles and walking the other 3.5. I went from 155 to 139 pounds in 3 months losing most of my breast tissue.

Unless you're 5'4" 155 lbs isn't a bad place to be.  Like Dani says you need something to work with.  There's a web page or doc from the UK that advises us to "eat pies."   :D  I've way too much belly/butt/thighs fat for my liking and want exercises that would specifically target those areas, but at 185 lbs or whatever I can live with myself for the time being.

I've been on progesterone for a little while - hard to tell if it's helping, really.  I don't rigorously document things though.  Maybe a bit more rounded.  None of the side effects manifested themselves so I'll keep at it and see what happens.

I'm not convinced that you need tons of fat for decent breast development. I lost a great deal of weight while transitioning (100+lbs) and am currently around 130lbs, 5 ft 9 in. And a solid 34 B cup. At just over two years of hrt (the first 9 months being extremely slow titration due to medical/seizure concerns). I'm still definitely growing even with a bmi of 19.

I've always been pretty skinny and have no extra fat for breasts. But I have had non-stop breast growth for 26 months. I don't think it matters about your quantity of body fat. It's apparently genetics more than anything...

breast development is a bit of a generic lottery. Even for cis-women there is no guarantee, some have large and some have virtually no development.

For us.. well, the unofficial rule is one cup size smaller than the women in your family. So if the women in your family are around B cups, you will properly only get A cups.

I was lucky here, I come from a family of big breasted women (most are DD), I ended up with a pair of 36D breasts. Then again my own mother only wears a 34D bra (the smallest in the family), so technically I have bigger breasts than her.
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

Thanks for restating this, Dani. My endo told me the same thing - she didn't actually say "boob fairy" :) - which made me feel hopeful. I'm rather thin and she suggested I look at the women in my family for indications of possible growth. I hope I get many visits from the boob fairy while I'm sleeping!!

Genetics play a very important role role in breast development.  If the women in your family are small breasted, more than likely you will be small breasted.  In a similar note, the amount of estrogen receptors your body has, also plays a big role in breast development.  I've know some who were maxed out on estrogen dosage, who had little to no breast development, and conversely I've known some who have had significant breast development while being on low dosages of estrogen (this is the category I fell into - I never took more than a half dose of Premarin, or [when I switched to it] a quarter dose of Estradiol).  It is also time dependent, the longer you're on HRT (up to a point - after a certain amount of time, it will stop), the more development you will have.  I remember reading somewhere that it can take as long as 10 years for even ciswomen to reach maximum breast development.

Progesterone does play a part in rounding out breasts because it is part of the lobular development. Cis women have much more progesterone naturally than those of us born with male gonads. For those of us who have had the testes removed, we have very very little natural progesterone in out bodies.

Thing is E and P are still just the triggers for the growth process. Generally the growth is dependent on your bodies genetics but also other chemical factors. In the breasts your body's natural level of HGH and a couple of Insuline Like Growth Factor levels also determine how you grow.

I simply give myself a very vigorous breast massage at least twice a day. Doesn't completely stop the pain but it helps a lot...

Hi girls,
For what it's worth. My development has been steady.
Because I am quite wide of chest, my boobs seem smaller than they would if I was smaller framed. I quite like the shape being developed.
That said, there are days when the hardness is quite unpleasant. I too use massage for relief.
