Eh, I get grumpy sometimes, but I'm by no means singling out feminists. I think most self-described feminists are fine, but sometimes there's a well-publicized feminist happening that gets under my skin, like those women-only viewings of the new Ghostbusters. People complained about it being hypocritical, and the response was a lot of "haha, look at all those whiny white boys." I used to be super gung-ho about feminist causes until stuff like this slowly sapped my resolve.

I am unlocking the thread and no one has broken any rules and as long as everyone stays on topic with the discussion at hand all is good. Thanks

Thank you Mariah for unlocking this thread.

All I can say about TERFS is this.  They are people to be pitied, not hated.  I pity their narrowmindedness and hope that one day their eyes are opened.

A woman is a woman, no matter how they became one.

I see a lot of this on public and out Trans people. For example, a transwoman author wrote an article defending the we are women and about 90% of responses were "hes a man" and "your not a woman" things like that. It personally upsets me. Even if you have that opinion deep down, wether its right or wrong, what is the point of dragging someone down? I think that part of this is just human nature, that its almost impossible to be nice to to others.

Ill never understand humans, this is why im a socially awkward potato! Potatoes, just like cats, don't discriminate!

@Lucca off topic but I love your profile pic, I love Steins;Gate

I know that many women, feminist or not, dont really give a toss where someone started out. For example when I came out literally no one cared, they all suspected I was gay for years. The best response I got was when my Auntie turned around and said "**** happens!" I kid you not! It was brilliant! My point is that I think this is a minority group judging by actual day to day experience.

It sort of reminds me of homophobes back in the past, when they told homosexuals they were mentally ill and things like that. I have a friend in Ireland who had to travel just to marry his partner due to homophobia there. And in a way I think were the new social acceptance issue. I think in a world where same sex partnerships still get heavy resistance were bound to get hit with a load of negative stuff. Who has time for bigots!?

Im glad it isnt feminists in general though who hate transpeople though
