So, I just finished my first month of Testosterone, and I haven't really seen any changes. I know I have to be patient, but I'm really anxious to grow a beard so people actually think I'm a guy. How long did it take for y'all to start seeing changes, which changes did y'all see first, and do y'all have any advice for someone just starting to transition?

Hi, Inbredipus!

Welcome to Susan's.

I don't have any personal experience obviously, being MTF, but I know that the trans men that I know have had a wide variety of results.  I know one who had a bit of facial hair before he started transition, another who has been on T for a long time without obvious facial hair, and everything in between.  The majority eventually seem to get good results, but the old adage YMMV (your mileage may vary)  definitely applies.

Please feel free to stop by the Introductions forum to tell the members about yourself.  Here is some information that we like to share with new members:

Testosterone is different for everyone my dude!
I didn't see or notice any changes until 4 months which is when my voice started
getting deeper and some small facial hair growth.
I'll say around 5-6 months my muscles got bigger, and I noticed some fat redistribution
But not a lot because I barley had hips to begin with.
I honestly think I'm just one of those late bloomers even on T.
It was the same way when I had my female puberty.

It sucks but helps to have ALOT of patienice..
If you don't you will be frustrated as all H.
I know I was.

I had changes in the first couple of days. But my endocrine system was frazzled anyways, I had no estrogen in it to compete with the T.

Yup, everyone's different.

I started on a very low-dose and still had bottom growth almost immediately. I was on a very low dose for most of 2017, upped it in January of this year. Seven months in I have quite a furry belly, a slightly lower voice (I had a low voice already), and have had to shave as I don't want facial hair and it's really coming in. I've had a tad more bottom growth, to about an inch - from almost zero when I started. I can't really speak to things like muscles or fat redistribution as I've got too much weight to lose. But, folks have commented that I look good. I'm not sure what it is they're seeing, but I'll take it. Oh, and I get "sir" way more than I used to, though I'm still read primarily as a woman, I think.

So, at about a year and a half on a very low and then low dose, that's been my experience. Good luck!

After the first month and a half on T, my voice started dropping and I had noticeable bottom growth.  Facial hair started a few months after that, I'd say around the fourth month or so, I had a slight mustache.  Ignore the icon pic, that was me cosplaying from a few years ago.

About the bottom growth, I'd advise you to wear looser underwear than you probably currently do, the head of your penis might constantly rub on them, and irritate the living heck out of it!

Also, you'll realize that you might find your need to masturbate will increase dramatically, that's normal.  Do so, but not too much, as you can rub yourself raw.

If you have any other comments or questions, feel free to ask.  After all, we're here for each other!  :)
