The cooking nerd in me (I guess... just me then?) is crying that she doesn't use creme fraiche instead. ;D Cooks so much better!

You will never go back to generic table salt and pepper.

Is that Tellicherry pepper? Thanks Ellie! I'll look into that and also the Sherpa Pink Himalayan salt. Does the salt require a grinder too? I'm sure the manual pepper grinders aren't very expensive. I don't have room for another electric grinder lol.

Coarse salt does require a grinder to use in place of table salt, but I recommend it. You can get them in refillable grinders pretty easily nowadays. I know TJ Maxx always seems to carry a ton of Himalayan Salt in these tall glass grinders. (Sherpa Pink was just an arbitrary brand, most will be identical.) The telicherry peppers I have never seen in a grinder already, I just refill the one I have with the bulk bag I got from amazon I have yet to need to replace for 10 bucks. (Note that telicherry is just regular black pepper that was the larger, more matured part of the crop. It changes the taste slightly.)

If anyone is interested in how incredible the salt variety is out there, I highly recommend buying one of the sets like the Trade Joe's "Salts of the Earth" set of 7. Himalayan is the most generic of them. Hawaiian Black Salt is fascinating but I have no idea how to use it (almost sulfuric taste, but not a bad one). I think Inca Sun Salt is the best all around flavor.

I think I may have more of the stew made yesterday.  Might even make another batch as some tomatoes turned red and some peppers are ready to pick.  Have another yellow squash cut and there is a nice zuchinni to be picked also.

I made roast chicken with trimmings for lunch, so dinner was a ham and stuffing sandwich [emoji4]

I've never had rice pudding. Is that anything like tapioca pudding?  :D

Now, about those pan fried ribeye steaks...

I know there's a vegetable visible, but I'm betting that a certain full carnivore moderator circles in for a closer look at this.  ;)

You should try an Indian rice pudding, very different to a UK one. Made a chicken curry not made before, dry roast spices and make a powder first, thats dried chillies pepper corns, fennel seeds, desiccated coconut, rice and Chana dal and poppy seeds.

Northern Star Girl

I had a big and a late lunch today with a group of 5 of my gal friends... so I am not making dinner tonight.

So it will be snacks instead while reading my book tonight.
           Besides Chocolate, this is one of my favorite types of candy!!!

Hugs,

@Alaskan Danielle
OH look they even spelt it correctly............ ;D
I am literally sitting here drooling at my desk looking at that photo - despite the fact I ate massive loads of candy over the weekend because of my sons birthday party.
You are are cruel and heartless, but also very cool, because they are my favourites too. (apart from chocolate)

I went to a potluck lunch today and brought a pie. And returned home with a box filled with cookies, cake, and pies.  ;D

I'll freeze some of it for lunch this week.   ;D

Yum.
I ended up having a pan fried ribeye today too, along with veggies.
My ribeye steak had a bone in it.

@Devlyn
Dear Devlyn:

Exactly the way I like my steaks too..... medium rare, plenty of pink.
The better the cut of meat, the rarer I like it.

The baked potato looks very good too....
.....with all the toppings, sour cream, butter, chives or onions, and bacon bits.

Now I am hungry!!!
Hugs,
Danielle

I am having a healthy steamed veggie plate with broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus.
I am wanting to be able to fit comfortably into some very pretty, really nice, smaller sized clothes. Gettin' there...
