Michelle and Laurie, I just caught up on your road trip. My wife and I were just in the exact same places as you two. We did basically the same trip but in reverse. I can't believe we missed each other by about a week. Looking at Stephanie's tracker map, we passed along the same roads, except from St George, we continued along the I15 to Las Vegas and then on to LAX for our flight home. Would have loved to bump in to you both along the way.

Glad to see you are both having a great time.  Looking forward to more of your updates.

Hugs,
Jayne

Thanks for the tracking map Stephanie! Wow! They're really covering a lot of ground! Monica! I don't know about the name "Clyde"? But at the risk of being crude, that one rock does look like something I've been trying to get rid of  ;D.

Is it just me or does that one rock formation look like it should be named "Clyde?"

We survived another night together in the Prius and are now sitting in a little diner in Glenwood Springs, Co. Coffee is being consumed at an astounding rate.
Destinations under consideration are Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, and possibly a visit with a couple of friends in Loveland, Co.
  Ahhhh breakfast has arrived!

Hugs,

It hit us in Colorado Springs, on the much-vaunted tolerant west side. Guess I didn't mean to tempt the gods by saying we were tolerant of everything LOL. The insurance adjuster had just left my house after assessing the considerable roof damage from a storm on July 23rd. Then these 2" hail stones started dropping. I was glad my car was in the garage. Sounded amazing. It broke all the plastic dome skylights, some deck railings and window moldings, and dented the gutters. But we were actually lucky, as a couple miles farther south the hail was even bigger and that's where all the cars were totaled and people injured (and animals killed) at the zoo. I went outside just after it passed, and the sound as it pummeled everything nearby was amazing, kind of a low roaring sound.

Not that I want our wandering waifs to be afraid of coming down here...
If so, then why not?

We are just a hundred miles north of you and didn't even get any rain or heavy winds. The weather here in Colorado is fickle.

That smile says it all!  You're having too much fun, which is never enough!  I'm jealous.

But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

Oh boy, that should mean either Trail Ridge Road (Senior park pass!) or Cameron Pass on CO 14 are next. Both scenic...
If so, then why not?

Well I'm glad you and your car were safe inside RandyL. I've never seen hail storms that bad. I used to live in Las Vegas and when it rained, IT RAINED. But never hail like that!

Quick question for you ladies. Since you are in one of the more conservative areas of the country, have you undergone any harassment? Or am I just too scared of my own shadow to step out from under it? Fear sucks.

Colorado is mixed. Depends on where you go. Colorado Springs, yes, very much so. Focus on the family and james Dobson are there. Go to boulder and it's totally different. The governor is a democrat as well. Once upon a time it was a solid conservative state, but a lot of Californians moved there and it's trending in the opposite direction now.
