Hey guys!!! It's Sunday so I'm going to church in a couple of hours... hopefully they won't have to much anti-gay and anti-trans stuff...😓
The people there don't know that I'm starting to think of myself as genderfuild but I can't help but feel uncomfortable when talking about trans and gay people like that. 😐😒😠
If that happens I may come here and rant about it... Welp, wish me luck.

There are churches that welcome diverse people, but unfortunately not many.  I hope it went well for you this morning.  I was the cantor for the Gloria this morning and my church is fine with a woman who still sings bass.

@SallyChoasAura
Very correct what @MaryXYX stated above...
...I have also have a good experience at my church being accepted and being involved in different church activities and gatherings.
There are churches out there that are not judgemental and that do welcome the trans individuals.
Hugs,
Danielle

Thanks you two!!! It well and they didn't talk about gay and trans people. We had sermon (is that how it's spelled?) but I did spill a little grape juice on me lol.

Does your church often admonish the lgbtq+ ?

Eh...  maybe once a month they'll say that LGBTQ+ community or people like them are wrong and going against God. Personally I think God put some of us in the wrong body as a test or something like that. And I think he'll love anyone regardless of who they are or what they're attracted to. 🙂😄

John 3:16 is about as inclusive of a passage as can be imagined.

I am quite annoyed at how the most unaccepting faithful people like to judge me based on laws of the old testament (great for drama, not so great for inclusiveness) yet blatantly violate the other ones themselves.  You know, the shellfish, divorce, pork, and such laws.

Thankfully there are many religious people who aren't hypocrites like that, I just wish it were more widespread.
As our ashes turn to dust, we shine like stars...

I wish that where the case as well. It's tribal mentality tho. Us v them. And often justified by a single individuals interpretation of a passage taken completely out of its telephone translated context.

It's honestly one of the issues that I have with Christianity as a whole in the US. I can go into more specifics. But I have neither the want nor the energy. Also, that would hijack Sally's thread, so nope.

It's okay if you want to go on a rant, I don't mind. I tend to do it all the time lol. But I can understand if talking about it makes you feel uncomfortable or you worry that you'll make others feel uncomfortable or offended.
I don't really mind either way. You do you, my friend. 😸

Did you know that Judaism in the old times recognized like 5 or 6 genders.  I mean seriously. Christianity is kind strange with its two gender thing. Most cultures outside those that sprang from Christian beliefs had or even have to this day more than just male and female.

Oh and thanks for permission. It's mostly that I do not want to make those here that self identify as Christian terribly upset.

I am in a unique position in that I was born to a Jewish mother and catholic father. Being raised both meant I could not be indoctrinated into either.  I also have an effective minor in comparative theology. So with all that I can honestly say that it sickens me to see the perversion of fables that were meant to inspire people to be more than they are and always be kind and helpful towards others as well as the willful ignorance of the rules set forth in the Old Testament, with many choosing to cherry pick the rules that they demand adherence to. Truth be told, Christmas should have to follow or be bound by any of them ( Jesus died to absolve humanity of original sin and all of those rules were put forth as a punishment for original sin ) and the ironic thing is even all but the most orthodox of modern Jews do not take them literally and focus more off their values of heritage and tradition.

If Jesus of Nazareth were alive today he would definitely be a hufflepuff.

No. My parents want all of us to go. My brother have tried getting out of it but my parents just got super mad. So I just go along with it and silently disagree with the church's view on the subject in my head.
