I say 'think' because I don't want to start the celebrations in case I've misread the situation, but...

This nice lady from my town has followed the ups & downs of my domestic life for a while - marriage problems, separation, pending divorce etc... and more recently when I outed myself on social media, she was immediately onboard, offering advice and general support.

She's offered some good make-up tips, and even dropped off some hand-written notes with diagrams on how to do things right. Last week, she dropped off some clothes she had cleared out from her house and it was mainly her daughter's old clothes that would now fit my daughter, but there were a few things of hers that would fit me. She dropped a hint that I might like some of it myself, so I think that was her intention. ( The sheer black lacy number was defo an adult size lol )

Next, she wants to actually show me how to do contouring, mascara, blusher... the works! As I trust her, I showed her some pics of my early attempts at make-up, which she stated right away looked too 'drag queen' ( as expected lol ) and that's when she offered to show me in person.

I don't want to get too carried away, but just wow! It's all good ;-) I'll keep everyone updated as to progress...

@Johnni Gyrl

OK, I will be premature in saying my congratulations to you.
Cis-women friends are very valuable as you step into strange and basically unknown territory....   it is nice to have a guide for sure.

As things progress, and only if you feel comfortable doing it, occasional pictures along with your updates would be wonderful for all of us to see.
I will keep checking on your postings.

Wishing your well,
Danielle

That sounds very promising! My first year out, I had a coworker who I thought  disapproved of me, bring in some clothes for me. It was a nice gesture and taught me to not go by facial expressions alone as far as approval/ disapproval. Good luck.
If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

Thank you Danielle & yes I would add some pics later, if I knew how. It's probably real simple, but duh! Everytime I try I get an html code appear with (img)(/img) & nothing else - so I don't know if you can upload pics straight to the forum or do you have to put them on an outside web page & link to them? That's another problem where i need a mentor! lol

Thanks if anyone knows the answer ;-)

Thanks and you're absolutely right HappyMoni - I used to think this very woman didn't like me going by the way she looked at me a long time ago, but I must have mis-read that or she's just warmed to me recently. You never can tell what people are really thinking, so we shouldn't assume...

Just havin someone that isnt just accepting, but will talk to you about it with you. Is amazing, this last weekend I opened up to my cousin (she already knew, but we didnt talk about it). She was even helping me feel like I could  be more public with it. Guess it kind of restores faith in humanity a little bit.

Yes, it certainly does restore faith, knowing you have someone on your side. It's just awesome ;-)

Hi Johnni,

That's awesome finding someone that is willing to help you out.

On a side note, I've been surprised at the number of women that suddenly offer up clothing and help when they find out.    Besides my own experiences, I know many others have had similar experiences.  I find it very interesting.
~~Be kind~~
