Hi,

Yesterday, I met with Dr. Jess Ting, who performed my GRS on October 24, 2016, and I scheduled a clitoralplasy revision that he will perform next September 19th. I was worried going into my appointment that Dr. Ting might not be willing to try again to make my clitoris less prominent, and to restore my clitoral hood and to better define my labia minora after so many attempts. But he is sticking by me and I will with him! During my appointment, I even showed Dr. Ting by pinching my labia majora  how he might be able to restore my clitoral hood and define better definition to the labia minora. He then said to his colleague that we could surgically pinch more of the skin. Dr. Ting also said to his colleague something along the lines that I'm thin and that they will "dig deeper" - I assume into my tissue - to create the clitoral hood and to give the labia definition. Hence, I assume the reason why I will go under general anesthesia for this clitoralplasty revision, and Dr. Ting will perform the procedure in the OR unlike the other revisions done in the office. I will have the revision at Mount Sinai's New York and Eye and Ear Infirmary. This surgery will be my last GRS revision!

I may also be having a FFS revision with another surgeon later this year.
Sincerely,

Caitlyn

That is a great news. He is a good doctor, I am sure it will work out in the end

Hi,

Based on my consultation with Dr. Bluebond-Langner, I've become increasingly very nervous about a clitoralplasty revision. She told me that further revision work might make me become clitoral inorgasmic and my clitoris might "disappear" - her words.
Sincerely,

Caitlyn

My surgery is tomorrow! It will occur at the New York and Ear Infirmary. The surgery is suppose to last about a hour. I'm optimistic that this will be my last gender-affirming bottom surgery. Then, I move on to my FFS revision.
Sincerely,

Caitlyn

Thank you.

My insurance went well.

Good to hear, I understand it can be quite traumatic.

The only big hiccup so far has been that prescription for my pain medicine was inadvertently sent first electronically to the wrong pharmacy in the state where I live and then it was sent to a pharmacy in another state! This is despite me specifying during admission to the hospital that I want the medicine to be sent to a certain pharmacy and me confirming during discharge from the hospital that I could pick up the medicine at that pharmacy. I've been without pain medicine since my surgery! The surgeon, who performed my revision, and their office has been trying to resolve the situation. The surgeon said I could expect significant pain and discomfort. Luckily, I have minimal pain so far.
Sincerely,

Caitlyn
