Top Surgery and Stress/Exams

Hey guys!

With a bit of luck I'll be getting top surgery next year, and i've read that activities that induce stress/a fast heartbeat within the first weeks after should be avoided.
I am going to have my last school exams next year as well and was planning on having surgery inbetween two of the dates, since there is a break of a bit more than 5 weeks between written and oral exams.
Now, I have anxiety and know that the exam after surgery will induce stress and was wondering whether this is a valid reason to have it afterwards?
I dont care about my grade in the exam or anything like that, but I of course dont want to endanger my results or life.

Does anyone have any similar experiences?

Welcome to Susan's.

I realize that you must feel some urgency to have your surgery.  But having it in a 5-week window between exams sounds like trouble to me.  Recovery from any surgery takes weeks.  Even if you have your surgery the day after the first of those two exams, you might not be recovered enough in time to take the second one.

You should be discussing this with your surgeon as part of your preparation.  I would recommend having the surgery after your last exam.
