Hi Denise, nice to meet you!

Thank you for sharing with us. With regards to #3, I think it's a very interesting question. My instinctual answer would be "of course", but after thinking about it, I'm not sure.

The process of realizing I'm transgender and becoming who I want to be has been an amazing journey. It's true; I have hurt a lot, cried, lost people I love, suffered lots of judgement... but I have gained and learned so much about myself and the world, and my friends. I'm not sure I would trade it for anything.

Thanks!

There are lots of things only a small percentage of the population experiences. For example, I would like to run a marathon or participate in an Ironman competition. Alas, my knees won't let me. But I don't that hold me back from riding my bike 500 miles (800km).  They are completeness different but also the same.

Dear Denise:
Yes indeed, as you can see, a lot of members here are still reading this thread.  You obviously were missed on here while your were briefly gone and your readers and followers are happy to find the threads that you are now commenting on again.

As I mentioned to you in another thread this morning, I don't do the bike riding events but I do indeed do a lot of runs and walks and at least twice a year I will run a full marathon and/or a half marathon.
I hike and run enough in my weekly activities that it really isn't necessary for me to "train" for those events.  I suppose that if I did some specific and focused training before participating in any of those events that my times would improve but for me it is more about participating and not necessarily winning.  All of these kinds of events are great for meeting other people that have similar interests.

Please, if you feel so led, keep a thread or two of yours open for continued comments and participation from your readers and followers....  I enjoy following your life events and always look forward to reading you latest postings and viewing any photos that you may attach.

Hugs and hugs,
Danielle

Hazel - Nice meeting you too.  We think we know ourselves until one day.... wham!  You Know Nothing.  It's both scary and exhilarating at the same time.  I find myself coming to terms with myself on different things every day.

Hi Denise.  I'm glad to see you're back.  I agree with your list of observations.  Sometimes we need to do what we need to do to be happy.  I too have turned into someone who is always looking for the bright side of life.  No more negativity for me.  I've had too much for one lifetime.  Being just YOU is wonderful.  Isn't that what we strive for?

But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

@JudiBlueEyes thanks for the reply.  Interesting observation, but when I started out I wanted to feel like a woman.  What I've learned is what it feels like to be myself.

Thank you, some day! In the meantime how about occasional reports on what you are all up to so we can enjoy it vicariously? I know Kendra went shopping especially to buy clothes for clubbing, so it sounds like one big party!

It definitely was last night!! We had so much fun. But I'll let the girls tell you all about it.

@Charlie_Nicki Well let's just say what happens in xxxxx stays in xxxxx.

But seriously, you personally kept the dance hall hopping until we left sometime near 2am.  But that was Saturday night.  Sunday was a different story.  You and Kendra CLOSED the place near 5:00am The sun was coming up!!!  You are such a bad, terribly bad, influence on the elderly.  >:-)  >:-)

I'm so glad I came down to visit you, your friends and your totally-catch-me-by-surprise city.  I knew it was big but this is huge.  I think this weekend is in the top 10 weekends of my life!

Awww, dang it Denise! Now I'm really bummed I didn't go with you. Your quote about the elderly applies to me, too, though. Oh well.
